Late August 2005 Crowds

HI.

I am planning a trip to Disneyland for late August ..after the third week in August but before Labor Day. What are the crowds like then..is this a better time than June? I am assuming that since children and people are going back to school and work..that this time might be ok..Will Space Mountain be ready by then? Any help would be appreciated!

Most students don't go back to school until AFTER Labor Day, so crouds may still be an issue.

I know that CA schools go back after Labor Day but many states such as Texas and Florida and other start earlier. Will Space Mountain be ready then?
Would June be better or more crowded than August because of the 50th celebration...

CA schools are all over the calendar Alot of Norcal schools go back in
mid-aug and I know there are TON year round schools all over the state.

I would think that Aug. would defintely be better than June, due to schools and also since there are alot of school trips and grad nights in June. The day trips can flood the park during the day and then hours are short during grad nights.

I know that we've been the last week of Aug. and the crowds were minimal, but that wasn't during an anniversary year. Still, I would say it will be better than June

If you are coming in from out of town, I'd go for August, myself. Originally, Space Mountain was set to open in November for Thanksgiving and the Christmas Holidays, but Matt Quimet is (allegedly ) pushing HARD to get the ride testing and theming done, operators trained, and the ride open by mid July, for the 50th Anniversary summer crowds.

June is out of the question, and I wouldn't be surprised if the date slips a little, so August should be safe. But hot.

My kids school is year round. Of the four tracks, two start before Labor Day. You are running the risk of being in the park on a busy day. The park is still manageable on a busy day. You need to preplan for your visit. How many days will you be at the park?

We are coming from NY and I will be there 6 days and 5 nights. Arriving on a Wednesday and leaving Monday or Tuesday..probably August 24 through August 29..I plan to stay on property and we are only visiting the Disney parks..So August is better than June?

If you're there for multipul days and you don't mind some crowds, you will be able to do everything.

Personally I like June's weather better than August.

I'd agree. The big summer rush should be starting to wind down, you're talking about end of Aug, nearly Sept. If I was coming from out of town, that's when I'd go.

Disney starts to cut back entertainment and hours the week prior to Labor Day, in the last few years, the weekday showings of Fantasmic! were cancelled, etc...

A lot of CM's start school that week. Also, many SoCal schools are starting in Mid/Late August, since many have switched to a 3 week Christmas Break.
