and the new monorail trains

ONE New Monorail, as they are doing it one Monorail at a time.
But I think it is DCA's year and the promo of Toy Story Mania!.
We might get lucky with some more new stuff for HalloweenTime in 2008.
But other than that, hope for some more refurb walls for new stuff in 2009....

I'm hoping for the Peoplemover to return....and for them to END the Year of a Million Dreams.......and for the record, I finally got a 'dream' today - and it was these 'Mickey Ears' - and it was cool that we got them, but I wouldn't call it 'a dream come true' to say the least.
A lot more than they're likely to get credit for.
We will see lots of Victorian stuff.
a raise for CMs, nah! in my dreams
They're officially changing the name to Candy Corn Land

While I'd like to be optimistic about what's going to happen inside the parks...I won't rely on the quality of attractions that they may put in new/bring back/what-have-you, I won't hold my breath for any length of time on that...
I'll just hope that things will get better and that the trend of doing things on the cheap, or budget slicing the ideas to death won't happen.
Example:
Rocket Rods should/would have been AWESOME, if the freggin' cheap-o management responsible for the budget would not have kept cutting it like the psycho from SAW.
The cars would have been triangular in shape, the track would have had banked turns, the thing would have MOVED and been FUN.
There were many problems with that ride, not because the original set of plans or ideas were not good, they were— it all comes down to management 'slicing' the budget into nothing.
Like a meat carver with a nice big roast at dinner, ready to serve you...you ask for a piece, you're told you're getting one and at what size. You bring your plate over and the slice is as big and juicy as they said it was going to be, but before you walk away back to your seat, they take it back, and slice it ever thinner, and thinner, until you can almost see through it, and with each slice you realize you're going to be more and more hungry when the 'meal' is over, but there are no coming back for seconds or even re-negotiating for a slightly smaller cut being taken off your nice, juicy dinner.
The harsh reality sets in, and after dinner, you're forced to go back to the grocery store for rice-cakes and fat-free peanut butter to fill the rest of the way up—all WAY short of what you were lead to believe you would be feasting upon.
The budget cuts which were decided upon by management were SOLEY responsible for that attraction being on 'permanent refurbishment' — now we have a several million dollar worthless eyesore with circa 1980's satellite dishes spinning with horrid music, as if the attraction is moaning with sadness over what it once could/would have been.
Bitter: Party of one.
merchandise will hopefully start to get better and go back to its own land.
Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. 2008 will be the end of Golden Screams, and the end of MHT at DCA, with a move to DLP, and DCA getting a more mature Nightmare Before Christmas themed event.
Oh, who am I kidding, Rasulo, Grier and their "yes people" will never approve of it.
