Is there a trick to winning "The Year of A Million Dreams Prizes?"

I was wondering if there was a trick to winning a "dream" for The Year of A Million Dreams???

It drives me insane seeing the same people win over and over again!!!

be in the right place at the right time. ...or stalk them. The one time we won we just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

You need to look like a "typical" family to get picked.

I don't know, just my theory.

You just need to be walking over a particular spot at a point in time. The Dream Team CMs get a chit, it says something like "The first 4 people who are exiting Space Mountain at 10:11am get mouse-ears." Or words to that effect.

Unless they're selecting someone for a promotional spot, like head of a Parade or similar. It's been rumoured that they tend to select a Nuclear Family for those roles. But the standard prizes (ears, lanyards, etc) are given out with very little room for CM discretion.

Oh, with the exception that if your name is SkittlesMcGee then you are not allowed a prize.
    Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

Dream Fastpasses need to be handed out early in the day, as does the daily Hotel prize. So get to the park early. The rules say the Dream Squad stops at 5 PM, so folks in the evening are out of luck.

Keep your eyes open, they tend to pick secondary pathways a lot, and if the Dream Squad is handing out prizes, they will be wearing White Vests.

Re: Is there a trick to winning "The Year of A Million Dreams Prizes?"

Darn, that thread by Julie is Closed.

So, Instead, I will send my thanks to Sadako on this thread, instead.

I too saw the non vested cast members in that same area in July.
So I decided to hang around that area for a little while, and sure
enough Shortly after noon, the white vested CM's were handing
out a sizable stack of goodies to People entering DCA from the GC
entrance, SO exit DCA, to the GC, make U-Turn, and enter DCA
from the GC entrance and I became a Dream winner for the 1st time!

Stalking does pay! The CM's handed me a "My Dream Came True" button
(pardon me while I laugh about that ~ hahahahhahahahahaha)
AND a Little Gift Card holder with a Plastic Card inside ~ it was a
voucher for a free photo redemption.

And on my trip to DCA mid September, I used a "NON" stalking method.
I was watching Block Party Bash in the Route 66 area , and got one of
the little blue Nerf Balls (I know, not a Dream Prize, but they are still cool) ,
and suddenly, I recalled a story from another MiceChat member about
getting a "Dream Prize" at the Boudin Bakery. Immediately, I thought,
head straight for the Boudin Bakery ~ don't stop anywhere, go straight
to the entrance of the bread tour. The door was open, and there were
about 10 people in the room already. The film was already to the part
where Rosey and Colin were talking. Shortly after I entered, they
closed the door, and announced that we were Dream winners ~ at the
end of the tour we each got a small Miickey shaped sour dough roll.
About the size of a hamburger bun, with two small rolls for ears!

SO moral of the story, IF the STALKING Method doesn't work for you,

Try the ESP method to detect WHERE the Dream Prizes are going to
    be given out!

    I'm Proof! BOTH methods Work!!!!!

I am SO stalking them in December when I'm there with my hubby! Although a dear friend did give me a pair of dream ears, because her family won them TWICE going to DL this year. Sheesh. Some people have all the luck.

You can't look like an outcast I guess....

No goths, punks, alternative rockers, hippies, skaters, BMXers, metalheads, emo... whatevers...., Lost Boys, straightedgers, hardcores, rude boys, gangstaz, cholos/as, zipheads, dweebos, or nerf-herders.

    You won't get crap!

Don't put on a mean face, but don't act like you're having too good a time with your friends.
Don't look them in the eye, but don't ignore them completely. They're like cats...

The chance of getting a prize is like the chance you have getting approached by a single cat in a room full of catlovers.

Basically, just conform to the norm and you'll win a goodie...
Swallow the pill and you'll be rewarded.
"Peter," she asked, trying to speak firmly, "what are your exact feelings to me?"
"Those of a devoted son, Wendy."
"I thought so," she said, and went and sat by herself at the extreme end of the room.

I got a Dream FP on 9/19 by walking up the upper path between IASW and Mad Tea Party (the path behind the bushes). I didn't use it, though, since the waits on most of the rides were less than 5 minutes. Some of the rides that use FPs had their FP machines disabled. It made for a nice souvenir, though.

    Nope, we're all good here.

Out of curiosity, Skittles, when you say 'the same people', do you mean you've seen the exact same people win over and over, or the same kind of people (families with cute babies or whatever)?

Because if it's the former, I strongly suggest that you start hanging out with those people.
You don't need me or my ham, cheese, cheese, cheese, tomato, cheese, ham and tomato sandwiches. And cheese.
