    Smile child seats

Very new to this. Just want to know if there is service from John Wayne airport to Disneyland Hotel that provides a child seat? This would help a lot in our planning of our sister and neice having their first Disney experence.

Could you just sit on a child? It would be a literal Child Seat.

It's been awhile but if I recall the law is if the child is under 6 or under 60 pounds they need to have a child seat. So if your child is over 6 they still need a car seat if they are less than 60 pounds.

I have a web site you can rental one but I think it will not be there at the airport.

    http://www.babysaway.com

If flying, they may need bring one with them Not all taxis or shuttel may have a car seat.

    from the CHP Web site

    The New Law Says...
Children must be secured in an appropriate child passenger restraint (safety seat or booster seat) until they are at least 6 years old or weigh at least 60 pounds

do not need a children seat if Old than 6 year age or 40-60 weigh.
why start 40 LB. the old law was 40.

you need ask the service what do they have in child seat.

The law is 6 years AND 60lbs actually.

My daughter is turning 8 soon and she is petite and only 55 pounds and still is required to be in "booster".

I'm pretty sure it is 6 years old AND 60 pounds. My son is 6 but only 53 pounds and we were told he needs to be in a seat. I could be wrong but I don't want a ticket so better safe than sorry.

    Re: child seats

Most car rental companies have seats for rent if you rent one of their cars. You may want to call one at the airport and see if they will just rent you the seat without a car.

Also depending on the age and size of the child, you may be able to buy them a booster for $25 at like Walmart.

    A little piece of heaven

My post of the child car seat Law was put off the Cailfornia Highway patrol web site.

    It say or

    From CHP web site.

Kids should be in car booster seats if they:
    • Are too big for child safety seats
    • Weight about 40 - 60 pounds
    The New Law Says...
Children must be secured in an appropriate child passenger restraint (safety seat or booster seat) until they are at least 6 years old or weigh at least 60 pounds.
Car booster seats must be used in conjunction with the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt. The booster seat raises the child so that the vehicle lap and shoulder belt can be positioned properly, and the child's knees can bend naturally.
There are two common types of car booster seats to use depending on your car...
    High-Back Booster Seat
If your car's back seat is lower than your child's ears, use this high back booster seat to help protect your child's head and neck.
    ? Backless Booster Seat
If your car's seat back is higher than your child's ears, you can use a backless booster seat.

Remember: a booster seat needs to be used every time. The back seat is the safest place for all children to ride. Always secure an empty booster seat in place.
For more information contact your local CHP office.

Or CHP have a typo on there web site.

Thanks AK. I'd love to get rid of the seat! Maybe I will now.

    It's OR

It is safest to wait until your child fits the seatbelt with their back straight, feet on the floor, and the lap and shoulder belt positioned correctly.

    http://www.car-seat.org/

I think you would need to call the shuttle company and see what they say. If you are buying a seat for them on the plane, maybe they can just ride in their carseats on the plane and then you know you have them. If its a booster you could check it under the plane I would think.

    Re: child seats

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought buses did not require car seats. So wouldn't it be easier just to use the Disneyland Express bus. Assuming you are just staying at the resort and use the bus to and from the airport, you wouldn't need a car seat.

    Re: child seats

Additionally, if they are required to be in a carseat/booster, then they are required to be in the rear seat, unless there is none.

Airport shuttles, taxis, and busses are exceptions to car seat laws, most of them don't even have seatbelts. If I were renting a car, I would bring my own carseat. I took my booster to Washington when we visited my Grandma, it was nice to have what we were used to!

Hope they have a great trip!
