OC Register celebrates Disneyland's 50th with special website!
There are all kinds of really great features to this site, but the most amazing thing is an interactive tour of Walt Disney's apartment above the firehouse on Main Street. As someone who has actually been inside, I can tell you that it is almost as good as being there.

After being in the car for hours, they saw a sign that said "Disneyland left" so they turned around and went home.
I never would have guessed Walt had a thing for grilled cheese sandwiches and raisin toast. The apartment is indeed beautiful, even better than one would have guessed from the outside.
yep, there she is in all her glory! That VR was taken very recently -- that new carpeting was installed only about 12 weeks ago!

How cool would it be to be able to spend the night there? That would be so awesome.

I have been in Walt's apartment several times (one of the many perks of working Guest Relations 'back in the day'). Its really quite beautiful and quoint. Not very big at all.
Michael Jackson used to go there when the crowds got to bad for him to handle. We would also take celebrity guests to see the apartment if they requested.
if you go to City Hall and catch the right Guest Relations person and beg profusely, there is a good possibility they might take you up for a sneak peak. But I would suggest doing it on a day when its dead in the park and there is no one around. Busy days are out of the question.
