10/11/07 TheGirlTrolly's BDay, PFF, Ariel's Grotto and Playhouse Disney

I wasn’t going to do another Trip Report (2 in one week is a LOT for me) but we actually did a lot for things we don’t normally do, so I decided to share after all as we visited both the Princess Fantasy Faire and Ariel’s Grotto. Yes it was a 4 year olds Princess dream!

10/11/07 was TheGirlTrolly’s 4th Birthday and so we packed up and drove off to DLR to celebrate. We planned to be at the park for the rope drop but traffic and a minor car sickness incident with TheBoy delayed us and we didn’t arrive through the gates till well after 11.

Thanks to several different Fall Breaks, the park was busy…and first up was Small World.




I am still waiting for MCer Keystone to put some of these topiaries in his yard.






I don’t particularly enjoy the PFF, its usually crowded and really a money making ploy, but it was her Birthday and she was in charge, so we gave in to one story time. They really need to find a better use of this space that has appeal to a broader audience than 2-8 year old girls.










For as busy as the park was…this was uh…not so much


I should note the two “princesses” out taking pictures to the side were Pocahontas and Mulan…

We were then off to DCA …Although I am looking forward to the changes. I will miss this




Monsters Inc. The Boys favorite ride…unfortunately has was napping so just the Girl and I ventured in…











We had time before our Princess lunch, to catch Playhouse Disney. I can not wait until they update this with shows that are actually still on the air. My son doesn’t even know who Bear is…








And Luna came out to sing the Goodbye song


Ariel’s Grotto is definitely a once a year Birthday thing. Its expensive especially for food that is just so-so. But the experience is worth every penny!

They have changed it to where you take a pic with Ariel upon arrival, and they then try to sell you a package of pics for $32.00…ouch! Aside from Ariel at the front, we also got Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aurora and the Fairy God Mother (who was actually the Girls favorite as she had never seen her before).

I was a bit surprised to see drink menus from the Cove Bar down here. They didn’t used to be there…


But they did sing and bring her a candle to blow out!


DCA was closing at 5pm, so they kicked everyone out, run run, back to Disneyland!

We then made our way back to HMH…I really do enjoy this ride, although the constant shaking on the buggies makes it hard to take pics










We made it back to Main Street just as the PoD was rounding through. We waiting until Belle passed by and then made our escape before the crowds to get back to the structure were too big.


We won't be back till the CHOC walk...twice in one week is a lot for us!

Looked like a fun time...I myself enjoy Princess Fantasy Faire...well not me personally, but I think its a great attraction for the those girls who want to experience life as a princess, it definitely has more appeal than to just 2-8.

I agree with you on the princess fantasy faire thing. A show would be better suited for that area but anyway. Great trip report. Your little girl is adorable, i hope she had a great birthday filled with wonderful disney memories.

Great trip report!!! My daughter is just getting into princesses, although she still wants to be a pirate for halloween.

I am curious about the apple with the candle. Did you request an apple? Do they normally do something different. That was very unique!
