“To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here, age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
As one who was lucky enough to have been to Disneyland in 1955 (albeit, not opening day!) and who has so many treasured memories of the past... who has seen so many changes through the years... and who still marvels at the magic... I send my heartfelt greetings on this day. You have provided many hours of joy and laughter. You have remained true to your ideals throughout the years. You continue to provide creative and innovative experiences while... somehow... at the same time remaining a constant. I look forward to every visit because I know that I will always see or experience something new... and also because I know that as long as you are there, I can always "go home again." Happy Birthday, Disneyland. Many happy returns of the day.

"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

I was 3 years old when I first visited this most Magical Kingdom. And now, at 42, the magic has never left. May 50 more years bless this most fantastic place. Keep on giving the world the hope and dreams of all who pass through your mystical gates. And may all those who know of this magic continue to revisit their past and look into their futures. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Disneyland. It's been twenty years since I first knew you, and 11 since I rediscovered you. Though I couldn't be there on this special day, I can only hope to keep visiting for the next 50 years and beyond.
