Mickey Mouse (and the rest of the Disney characters that are being slapped onto standard amusement park rides in Paradise Pier) is not germane to the presentation.
The only reason an oceanfront amusement zone even exists at D.C.A. is because the pier relates to the sea and to beachgoing. The imagery of Paradise Pier needs to support the concept of a visit to the Pacific Ocean that meets the California coast.
The personified Sun and his smiling face do so. Mickey Mouse doesn't.

What PragmaticIdealist said.
It's almost like a billboard. Just a little too, er... 'in your face'.
It's kind of (but not precisely) the same feeling I had about The Arm at Epcot. You wouldn't put a big sign that says 'Magic Kingdom' over the Castle.
Also, what pragmatic said. It takes away from the atmosphere of a real seaside pier.
This is the same art already posted....

Thank you!
It may have been posted before, but I am more than happy to see it again.
Thanks for your efforts. Any chance of separate shots so we can see more detail?
Thanks again.
Is the Monorail in the scale model picture the current version, or the soon-to-be version? Or just a mock-up version?

That was wonderful! Bravo! I loved that! Ah, that was great! Well, it was pretty good. Well, it wasn't bad. Uh, there were parts of it that weren't very good though. It could have been a lot better. I didn't really like it. It was pretty terrible. It was bad. It was awful! It was terrible! Take 'em away! Boo! Boo!
With improvements coming to Paradise Pier making more thematically relevant and mus less blah, has anything been seen, heard or otherwise about Screamin'? I wonder of the Imagineers will be cleaning up its design flaws. A wood coaster is already befitting the theme, but the scream tubes and such make it look too modern.

Thanks everyone for your responses!![]()
I wonder if they are going to have the Mickey "Billboard" on both sides or just on the side that faces teh water? Because with the Mickey facing towards the water, it seems to fit better than it facing towards all the victorian (they are going with victorian style right?) style. Almost like the ride is sitting on two sides of a land.....
