For fun lets imagineer some restraunts for the new DCA

For fun lets imagineer some restraunts for the new DCA, inspired by the press release on the new "drive in " eatery in Carsland where else would you like to dine??? I would like to see in the Mermaid ride area an under the sea restraunt maybe a huge round water filled aquarium like walled in building with fish and dingle hoppers, and some Jetsom and Floatsom.. and I see a bronze statue of Ariel like on one of the Disney Cruise line ships greeting us at the entrance.

I want an old Jazz Cafe in the Main Entrance somewhere...

How about a good sushi bar that acutally stays open this time?

I at Lucky Fortune Cookery once back in 2001. Ah, the memories of when it all began.

I want restaurants with COOL, CATCHY, HIP names that play on California cities, and that serve food unrelated to those same cities.

How about imagineering a Disney restaurant with good quality food?

The Vineyard room has VERY good food.

    I love that place!

I would like a restaraunt on the Ferris Wheel. Each of the not moving Gondola's has a tabe inside and each time you go around. The waiter comes in and takes your order etc.

If you need something when you are at the top, just stand up and open your chair to reveal an emergency waiter that pops up and gets you what you want.

I had started to do some research some restaurants from early Los Angeles for this thread, unfortunately things like The Brown Derby or Schwab's come to mind, and they've been done already at Disney'sMGM and Universal. I would love a restaurant either in the entry plaza or in the Hollywood section that pays homage to some old Los Angeles or Hollywood haunt from the old days.

I thought Flo's V8 Cafe in Radiator Springs (Cars Land) could be a juice bar, sponsored by V8 vegetable juice .

Also, I pictured The Wonder Wheel Hotel as a sit-down restaurant with a beautiful view of Ornament Valley .

I'd like to see something akin to the South Seas Club in the Rocketeer for the Los Angeles / Hollywood area. Live swing and jazz bands entertain diners and even space for people to do a little dancing if they feel like it.

For Radiator Springs, a diner style place would fit in nice.

I woudl love to see something themed after Tokyo Delve, but that may be a little too mature for a Disney park.

Re: For fun lets imagineer some restraunts for the new DCA

There was talk before about putting in "The Cliffhouse" restuarant that was near San Fransico. It survived the 1906 quake but burned down a year later. I would like this restuarant to have in international menu and placed where DCA's Route 66 area is. Would also provide a nice view of World of Color.

I enjoyed Tokyo DisneySea's entertainment/eatry that featured "Donald's Boatbuilders". Maybe replace Tortilla Factory and expand the building. Then combine Tortilla Factory with the Bakery. I would like to see a water attraction that combines the Fortune Cookie & Treasures in Paradise buildings.

Rename Ariel's Grotto restaurant to the undersea ballroom featured in "Bedknobs & Broomsticks".

Would like a restaurant built on top of the Hyperion Theater waiting area. Could have a return of actor/waiters like in the Soap Opera Bistro. May also provide nice view of TOT.

Would love to see an ISLANDS restuarant replace McDonalds.

I would put the "hole in the wall" fast food service (corn dog, ice cream, pizza, etc) in CA Screamin's east helix

And I do like the Drive-In Dinin idea.

    Never been in Taste Pilots.

Re: For fun lets imagineer some restraunts for the new DCA

I think Disney should look at incorporating more restaurant experiences with interactive cast members in the restaurant (ala the closed Soap Opera Bistro). The combination of theme and story is Disney's trademark, and translating them to restaurants has been relatively successful at WDW. While the Soap Opera Bistro did fail, I do no think DCA should give up on the concept.

One idea I would like to see takes a page out of the Sci-Fi Dinner Theater (slated to be added to Cars Land also). Take that idea, and create a Twilight Zone cafe near ToT. Now since TZ episodes generally run for 20 minutes, they wouldn't have to show episodes around the clock. Instead, you would find an ordinary restaurant, with extraordinary artifacts. Tables could be adorned with that fortune teller that gives ominous fortunes for a penny. The jukebox that magically turns on could also be thrown in.

The best thing, of course, would be to have Cast Members act out certain famous Twilight Zone scenes, including ones that take place in restaurants, such as "Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up?"

Of course, I am a huge fan of the Twilight Zone, so maybe it wouldn't have the widest audience appeal. But, I feel it would work very well in tandem with ToT.
