October 13th: A Kuzcochik Trip Report. Feat: Halloween, Characters, Parades and More!

So I'm a little late with the TR, but I didn't get home until Tuesday and then had two papers due.

But here is my Trip Report from my D-land trip last Saturday w/ my Ohana
Enjoy!!

The day started dreary and way too early!
We all put on our Mansion/Nightmare shirts and were ready for a day of Disney Halloween fun.
We left San Diego around 7am and quickly made our way to the parking garage.

First stop was HMH!! Hurray. I love it much no matter what anyone says
Jack just hanging around *is groaned at* 7years and I still enjoy it

And he's Jack the Pumpkin King (I am so beyond psyced to see Nightmare tomorrow in 3D... just thought I'd mention)


Happy Holidays: This sign always makes me realize just how much dead space there is in HM when it's regular style. i think that's why I like HMH so much. It utlizes space well (except leota's not floating and they should totally project Sally somehow onto the bride... whatever happened to that lab plan from 2 yrs ago?)

We got stopped in front of Oggie so I took some shots. He's really creepy when you look at him. He moves very realistically... like how you would think a living breathing Oggie would move. *shudder*



We decided to head over to Woody's Roundup to take in the Halloween festivities but it was sadly closed. So we hung out with some pumpkin dude


While we were standing there some guy walked by with his kids yelling something about "look at those beautiful girls w/ that pumkin"... it was really odds, his kids looked at him like he was crazy


I'm amazed this sign is still here. Oh Home on the Range... everyone hated you but me!


We ventured into Fantasyland and hoped into the hardly existant line for the carousel. I was really excited cause I haven't been on King Arthur's in foever! We sang along to all the music

Julie was mad cause we made her take a pic. Then I said something stupid about her having "Gusto" and she laughed in the pic :P


We fully intended on riding Alice in Wonderland, but because of the "inclimate weather" it was closed

It was off to Tomorrowland to laugh at the Nemo line, grab fastpasses and hit up Astro Blasters


In Store Command... apparently someone left Babette behind. Lumiere must have been looking for her

On our way out of Tomorrowland bound for DCA I spied some Dream CMs.
We raced toward them as they handed out Dreamfast passes and were maybe 6 people too late.
I nearly screamed (actually I ranted into a video camera, but that's another story) The one time I see a Dream CM doing their freaking job and I get nothing. Year of a Million dreams my foot!!
I took a pic of Triton in my anger (he mocked me!!!!)

I love the pumpkins around the hub but something about them bugs me... it makes the place look kinda cartoony (and for once I don't mean that in a good way.) I dunno

Apparently the photopass dude got sick of wearing his jacket so he gave it to this cold dog

We caught the Dapper Dan's singing Grim Grinning Ghosts as we left for DCA


They did the hitchhiking ghosts thumb thing... it was pretty neat (i'm a sucker for any version of GGG)


Me w/ the Dan's they all harmonized on the word "Cheese!" it was awesome... especially being right in the middle of it

All right, I lied, I had some extra time tonight
So on to Part 2.

As I mention... it was off to DCA!
This was a big deal cause on my last 2 trips to DL I haven't gotten to go over to the other park and I love DCA (I said it, so sue me!)
First thing we noticed was Candy Corn!!!
Having the theme song from the Gummi Bears still stuck in our heads from the car ride to DL, we made our own song to the tune

(I told you we're lame )


First thing first it was off to find food!
My lovely Shrimp Louie Salad... I love this thing so much
I actually crave it when I'm not at DL

Okkay, so lunch just got weirder and weirder and without launching into a crazy explination and confusing everyone I'll post this pic. You just have to imagine that there are a whole bunch of cartoon characters surrounding us and driving us crazy.... I told you we're weird!!!


So we headed over to Golden Screams cause I wanted to check it out since I missed it last year and this'll probably be the last year of it.
Outside we ran into Hook.
He bowed to me and took my hand and then spun me into his grasp


It was pretty awesome


Then he started threatening me w/ his hook (i love this pic)


Golden Screams was a pretty cute show actually. i was stoked they showed clips of Yzma and Kronk


Hades was the winner which was awesome cause i *heart* hades!!
(do other villains ever win? Cause like what would happen if Ursula won... or Clayton... does it change? I'm just naive and curious)


Hades was huge! And awesome and I was so happy to get a pic w/ him even if he's creepy!


Outside there were a ton of villains
Hook was still out and we caught Cruella quickly. She told us she was having a marvelous day because it was so dreary. As we took the pic I told her she'd definitely look more fabulous than myself. She was fun


The evil queen stormed past and didn't play with us much. She lost some points (no wonder Snow's the fairest)


It was off to HPB to try and hit up Tower. We made a pit stop at the Animation Building cause i love it so.
Inside we checked out the new Stop Motion Toy Story display.
I honestly haven't seen anyone talk about it on the boards (except a long time ago when it was first mentioned)
Anyway, it was pretty awesome


This guy was adorable!


The machine wasn't going to start again for 5 minutes so we headed to the animation academy

We drew Donald! I can't draw Disney ducks (like I've tried) so it was kinda fun to try. Here was mine


When we got back out the Toy Story machine was going
It was really facinating. Like I couldn't stop staring at it.

Outside we ran into Lewis!! I was uber excited because when we had been there for my b-day trip the MTR characters had just left. Lewis had a crush on me and acted all bashful. It was cute



On our way over to Tower we noticed an interesting phenomenon where the fake sky looked real. It was a strange double take.


Tower was fairly busy so we grabbed fastpasses and headed to Monsters
We tried to pose in the car out front, but the seats were still wet from the rain... so I'm not sure what's going on in this pic


Then we went camera happy in line

Crazy fun times


I always wave at the cabs that pass. People either stare at you like you're crazy, make their kids wave or wave back just as enthusiastically

Heading back to Tower we ran into Wilber. The character greeter told him Lewis had a crush on me and he stopped for a second and then looked me over... I laughed hysterically cause it was so weird (and it's on tape somewhere )

After Tower we grabbed another fastpass and headed back to the pier.

and then decided to check out California Screamin'
but not before stopping to take pics w/ the TS Midway Mania signs...
I got the brilliant idea to try an replicate them all.

Sadly once we got to Screamin the line was uber long so we decided to head back to Tower.
We made a quick pit stop in Bugs Land

I really can't stand that area, but the themeing is really amazing


As we passed Candy Corn Acres (or whatever the heck it's called) Hemlich made an appearance and I just barely caught him


I'm sad this pic is so dark. We had the same bellhop both times we rode Tower and he was awesome. He remembered us the second time and was creepy and just a lot of fun

After Tower we decided to head back over to DL
The I outside. This reminds me of that terrible YOAMD ad we run in the Disney Store... just not as annoying (if you've seen it you might know what I mean)


Tasty Candy Corn!! (they would seriously make a fortune if they had an ODV devoted to it in DCA)


Julie loved the candy corn... apparently I wanted nothing to do w/ it


And I was trying to make a heart above her head w/ my hands..... it didn't really work :P

When I saw Golden Screams two weeks ago the Villan that won was Shan-Yu from Mulan. He was also huge, sorry I didn't get any pics of him.
