Re: Funny/Strange/Amusing Happenings during July 17th (and the night before..)!

Maybe they should've been handing out commemorative 50th bottles of water along with the cupcakes?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

That would have been a good idea. I got really dehydrated around 3pm.

I was dehydrated by noon! I had a 32-oz powerade bottle with me, opened it in line for pizza port, and downed half of it immediately. Let's see, that's... 2 glasses! Finished the bottle within 2 hours after that point, and that's WITH trying to conserve.

However, never opened my second can of Coke.

Best Ride Fluke: Space Mountain. For some reason, as we entered back into the loading/disembark area, there was a beeping noise and a concered looking ride operator. I think it had to do with our lap bars; however, the CMs around us told us "we won another ride" and that we got to go a second time. HOT!

Best Food Comment from my non-Disney freak friends: "This is the first time I've ever heard of Dole Whip, but it's SO GOOD."

My boyfriend is awesome: I WAS SO NERVOUS MEETING MICECHATTERS that when I was in line for water (2.75 what?) he talked to someone at the MiceChat meet (DisneyParkFan, I think. HI CLIFF!) for me.

The best moment had to be having the CMs tell us Welcome home. Tears were welling up.

Of course, meeting you guys was a great moment too!

I still haven't previewed it to see what (if any) decent stuff I have. I'm sure the D-phile PSA's in DCA will be hilarious though. I realise in retrospect that some things (like carousel and possibly the park crossing) I may not have gotten on video... I forget. Not to self: must hook up camera and check out my video!

I have gotten some albums split up...

Check out the overnight stuff... I walked the entire line at DCA....

And then I got a lot of photos of the Merchandise queue, including stuff going on in the tent (I was escorted in to take photos)... but Deogge's Mom made me ride Big Thunder, and then when there was 5 people in line for Dumbo at 9 AM... well, that IS a ONCE in a lifetime experence....

Some more editing needs to get done, but there are a lot of photos...

Also, at the end of the LP meet photos, there are a few folks from MiceChat at the Lost Bar at about Midnight...

for those of you who entered within the first hour, I was one of the CMs welcoming you all home. I'm so very glad you enjoyed out little "welcome wagon." It was tremendous to see so many smiling faces!!

May I ask who's idea the welcome was? Did somebody walk into the Main Street CM's break room and shout 'Hey Guy's, Lets Welcome everybody home when the gates open!' or was it a memo saying 'You WILL welcome every guest home to compensate for the lack of space to watch the cerimony... Or ELSE!' (jk) ...

Whoever's Idea it was, I have to congratulate both them and the CM's who put the effort and energy into carrying it out. As seen here, it made many people's days just that extra big magical.

I can't tell you how cool it was to have you guys welcome us like that. My wife and I teared up a bit - it was very special. All in all, a wonderful day and we VERY much appreciate the CMs and the hard work that you do to make our day magical.
