well that really depends on peoples opinion. All three attractions usually have good size crowds and normally have people walking out of them with some kind of excitment factor shown in their faces.

The idea of large explosions, strong winds and other in your face effects attracts a large group of people.

An attraction is not going to please 100% of the guests all the time.

Yeah I mean, Armagedon bored me to death. Backdraft was ok, & Twister I haven't done, but I'm presuming it's similar to the other 2. So yeah, I guess I'm not a huge fan of those sorts of attractions. But contrary to you, I love the TTA in WDW, & can't wait to be able to ride the PeopleMover if they ever re-open it out here!

twister is the best of the three.
Armageddon was always planned for DCA but ended up getting scrapped in favor or the easier tobuild Millionare. If it had been built i think it would had made a perfect preshow and not a full fledge attraction. i envisioned guests entering a a room where they would had been teleported to the space station to partake in a scientific mission. Once at the station we observe a some testign going on when unexpectedly the station starts getting bombarded by a meteor shower destroying the teleporters. We are asked to evacuate using the escape pods. at this point we leave the special effect preshow and go into a corridor that is basically a queue to a revamped/rethemed indoor coaster similair to RNRC. The cars themed to look like space pods.

The attraction would had been a suped up faster version of Space Mountain.

In case the frequent visitors of this thread missed today's Dateline Disneyland column, finally some work at the preview center is visible on the outside -- they're fixing up the outdoor queue -- painting railing and replacing wood planter benches.

Inside Disney's California Adventure, the upcoming Resort Preview Center is continuing to be worked on as it prepares for a mid-September opening.


The wood benches lining the planters in the small outdoor queue are being replaced.

The Preview Center is scheduled to open the second week of September, when the Sun Wheel goes down for remodel work.

If as MasterGracey said, the start of the refurb of the Sun Wheel is anything to go by, I'd say around September 11th.

I was hoping for the 14th, that's the only reason I wanted a specific date.

Al Lutz said the second week of September, he also said the Preview Center would be previewing the new Paradise Pier when it opens up. So with the Preview Center's content, and the scheduled close date of the Sun Wheel, I would make the logical conclusion that the Preview Center would open on September 11th.

Of course, this is speculation. Perhaps our resident Project Tracker info master, Baloo, can shed some light on this?

I hope it will be open by then. A Friday opening would make sense. Then they could have the media events like Tues-Thurs.

Every opening at Disneyland has some sort of media presence. Does that mean it's an event? Who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if heavy equipment started showing up any day now, but I don't know anything specific.
