Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

My bro is a CM and got to walk around the TSM site. This is simply what he said......

Toy Story MANIA! does not have any preshow other than the potato.

The ride starts where the queue starts under the large building

Theres no real queue detail.

The interior in no-way represents the exterior, the interior looks just like old DCA midway with the metal signs and cheap yellow-red color scheme and look. He said its gonna be a decent ride and the real signs of DCA 2.0 start with Mermaid. =/

The attraction doesn't open for soft openings for a few more months yet, so the queue and attraction may still offer more detail once completed.

From the concept art, I'm really not very thrilled about the attraction itself. I'm mostly just excited about the way Paradise Pier will look once the re-theme of this area is complete - and Toy Story Mania! is the first phase of this re-theme.

Interesting, since there is a large show building behind Screamin. If it does start right on the pier then we might be in for a lengthy attraction.

Regarding the interior and judging by the photos posted on this thread, one can assume that there is still much needed work to be finished before the attraction opens.

Nothing with a face was my New Years resolution 5 years ago. Plenty of left over Tofurkey if you'd like me to send some your way.

I imagine we'll start to see more activity kick up once the holiday rush is finally over. I believe that was the plan all along. I think one of the original plans called for the Entry Plaza/Sunshine Plaza to be the first section closed for remodel after the holiday season - but that's been pushed back now. I think for sure we'll be seeing work beginning on the World of Color show (drained Paradise Bay, etc) beginning in 2008, as well as work going on in the San Francisco buildings for the Preview Center. We might also see more re-theming work going on in Paradise Pier.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

The entrance changover will not happen till after WOC debuts. expect construction late 2009 early 2010.

2008 will be about finishing as much as possible with the pier and viewing area of WOC.

you do realize that it is still December. The attractions queue still has lots of work to do and the attraction will not be redy till spring of 2008. That is still three months. Many of the buildings interior still has detailing to be added and the actual loading area still has lots of its props that need to be added.

The loading area will be in the front building but will have a very whimsical theming with large props to make you feel as if you are the size of a toy.

The queue will wrp around the front area of the building as well as use part of the old midway games that were closed.

i would no judge the attractions theming until all has been done.

Mermaid will be very elaborate but Midway will also be a step up from what is already in DCA.
