During phase two i would then have added a bay area with a small body of water and small village surrounding the waters edge. This small body of water would then connect to the Paradise bay via underneath the Paradise Pier bridge. a boat dock would then be placed in this new bay area so that people could board small boats that would take them to another boat dock that would drop them off near the beer garden between the newly designed orange stinger and zephyr. It would add a new attraction that served as a transportation system which then also added movement to the large body of water in Paradise bay during the day.

I agree and thats not a small chunk of land we are talking about nine lanes that run south of the parking lot and east of the parking lot that could be used for attraction expansion. That old parking lot entrance should just be shutetred completely and forgotten. I do know that two or three of those lanes will never be available for expansion since the power lines run inside disney property and would have to be rerouted if they ever get ahold of the corner properties. The good thing is that they could always squeeze in showrooms like they did with Indy in Disneyland. There is also a chunk of land just eats of tower that is used for these enttrance lanes and tram route. Most could be removed and only some space left for backstage access

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker Baloo,Well that's what I would done too if I was in control. In my DCA plan I proposed the boat idea but I changed the layout slightly assuming Carsland would be built the way it was proposed, but in a perfect world, I think that shifting CL toward TOT would be better too leave better options for the future. I'm sure they have some reasons why they're doing it this way but it sems less than ideal to me. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker we will have to see what the have in mind for the remaining space. i know that they have been working on two more additins for Carsland soon after its debut. One is suppose to be a darkride. Also supposeldy theyhave been told that if things go well they could start thinking about a third phase to fully build out the remaining land for DCA. during that the attention would shift towards the third gate and then eventually additional attractions as years pass to fill in the available expansion pads around DCA. The park right now and the future additional land expansions all are being planned with areas available for future attraction pads. That is why you see large areas in Car Land and the existing DCA that area basically untouched. I am sure that in their mind DCA will eventually use up every nook and cranny |

And that chuck of land east of Alladin and TOT is prime for development. Quote:
And as Baloo mentioned, it's vital that DCA have open space they can use over the next 15 years to add attractions. Still having that space available NOW would help direct the plans over that span of time in a more complete way.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker we also do not know exactly what they have in mind for the wharf. WDI has their eye on that area and they really want to turn it into somehting else once contracts expire. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker I really think that the remaining space of the Bay Area, the Golden Vine Winery, and the Wharf area should be rethemed to be a more coherent representation of the Bay Area. Even the area of Paradise Pier where Ariel's Grotto is could be rethemed to be SF-themed. Then, after Condor Flats has been rethemed, you could turn the remaining area of the old "Golden State" land into two lands, "Grizzly Peak Recreation Area," and "The Bay Area," or something similar. I think that will help the park's coherency, because all those minilands right along the parade route are really awkward. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker I agree, DaAlCh that's basically what I've been supporting, and pretty much what I think WDI will do too if phase 2 gets approved. My DCA plan renames them Grizzly Valley and Golden Bay, my Golden Bay would be even bigger than what you decribe, but I'll be happy if they did just what you said too. |

Personally, as much as I hate typing this, if they aren't going to do the California theme correctly I'd much rather see them simply get rid of it completely and create a brand new theme for the park. I've always wanted to go to a Disney park that had different environment elements to them. One land would be dedicated to rainforests, another to deserts, another to forests, another to snowy terrain, and the other devoted entirely to the ocean. Something with a name like Earth Disney. Cheesy name? Yup, but I like it. So there! ![]() That's my two cents. - Joe

thats exactly why i think they should reconfigure the entrance and exit of ITTBAB and then push back the bugsland signage as much as possible so that the remaining farm area that will not be taken up by Mater as well as the large planters, and the old covered fastpass area for ITTBAB be turned into part of a bigger representation of either the bay which is like you say connected to the vineyard and wharf or even use it as an extention of the disney plaza La themed area. I would even go as far as to say that they should just remove the large bugsland marquee and put it over the south gate that will connect it to Car Land. Make FFF and the ITTBAB attraction accesible only from that gate like this http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=...vk556291_pn106 if for people flow there is a need to have the land accessed from the original area then i would move the marquee back as much as possible maybe where here where i added the purple box http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=...vk556291_pn106 the good thing of this change is that they also have the wide parade corridor section that will not be used anymore for the addition. a more narrow and themed area to fit with the new theming and the large waterfall would be perfect. Basically give the area the same charm as New Orleans square but still allow good size road to allow guests to exit the park at closing time. Last edited by Baloo; 08-30-2008 at 11:02 PM.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker I can't ever see those maps on Live.com, I have an old browser on this computer I think that may be the problem. I think that sounds like an interesting idea though. I'd like to see something like that done if it's decided that BL must stay. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker That would make a pretty sweet large chunk of land for Golden Bay/Bay Area. Although, I don't know why there can't be an entrance to ITTBAB and FFF right at the southeast corner of your wall.
