Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Just signed up to be a mice chatter. How we doing so far on the change over? I heard yesterday, that somewhere at DCA there will be a spot where the models of what will be done can be viewed. Somewhere near the vinyard area. That small theater spot where the visa holders used to have a meet and greet. Is this old news? Has this been discussed already? With a topic of 117 pages, (applause to YOU MasterG) its hard to keep up.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

These are the pics from that thread:

Notice in this one that it says:
1. Cars Land (two words) includes Radiator Springs (the majority of the area) and Route 66 (what seems to be the main promenade).
2. The existing parade route (soon to be altered) will be dubbed El Camino Real ranging from ?Walt Disney Plaza? to the Beer Garden.
3. Buena Vista Street, an early Los Angeles neighborhood, will be the name of either a portion of Walt Disney Plaza (the lower left section of the red circle) or the whole land, replacing Walt Disney Plaza. - that is not official maybe BFJen who attended the presentation can clear that up.
4. The Red Car Line that spans from the entrance to the TOT.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

While I have no evidence to prove this, I would think that Buena Vista Street is just a reference to a street name within Walt Disney Plaza and not actually a new name for the entrance. Similar to Royal Street in New Orleans Square.

That could be a possibility but why would they display it in that large text that is used for Cars Land and Paradise Pier. Why didn't they use the same text used for El Camino Real, Route 66, and the Red Car Line?

I'm not trying to say you're wrong but it just seems odd that they would use that same text.

we'll see i guess

I believe the "Walt Disney Plaza" name is out and the area is now planned on being called "Buena Vista Street."

Perhaps Baloo can elaborate later on...

Also, FutureImagineer -- thanks for reposting BFJen's photos in here, but can you upload the photos to your own photo hosting service so visitors to this thread don't drain her Photobucket account's bandwidth. Thank you!

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

I don't like the name Buena Vista St. Not that I was madly in love with WDP, but it's better than that. I even more now think that the Goofy ride is a bad idea, the others look pretty nice though. Cool to see more concept art.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Anyone know if the "Merbuggies" are going to be floating in water or will they be your standard HM style?

Goofy's Sky School looks to be a quick update while they plan something new there for Phase 2. With that and the Sunglass shack (or whatever it's called), they've got about 2/3 the space of TLM, which is a great size for a small dark ride and, of course, associated shop.

From what I've heard, it will be the name of the land, instead of Walt Disney Plaza.

Oh trust me, the Little Mermaid won't be small!

Btw... Anyone else notice the ride will be called The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Adventure.

Um...Silly Symphony Swings? This is the first time I've read about this. When did this come to light? I'm guessing it's the new decor for the huge orange.
