From what I've heard, the lake will have to be drained anyway for work to be done on the Sun Wheel once October comes around, so they probably will do the work on the lake for World of Color beginning this October, through May 09.

Most likely. Disney will take as many advatages as they can to get the project done.

Not thay think that everything it ready to go in this year.
the base will go in but main part of the show will go in next year.
Show will go on 2010 middle spring no dates set.

soo.. wait a minute... what happened to the Aladdin show in DCA?!

The new rendering for TLM building reminds me greatly of the Crystal Palace that was in London, England during the Victorian era. Here is a link

Don't worry it's still here, just on a refurbishment through December 11th.

Yeah the arch does look very simmilar, I thought I had seen something in a Coney documentary that reminded me of it, thanks for posting. The first thing that it reminded me of was some beaux arts buildings, expecially the tower on the left and the curved metal roofs which kind of looks like many French buildings including the Musee De Orsay which inspired many California recreations of the style.

They don't need to drain the PW part as it is not really connected, but how could they only drain part of the PP part or is that what you meant?

i am guessing that they could probably set-up dams on the bay like they do at rivers of america occasionally.

They could leave water on the southern area of the bay along the wave machine and screamin launch

I dont think they'd spend the extra money on a dam, I think they are going to drain the whole lake, and wall it up like it was never there.

The lake's not going anywhere. It's where the show will be.

I don't believe k_peek_2000 is saying they will remove the lagoon, but just wall it up during the draining and construction.

Notice in this one that it says:
1. Cars Land (two words) includes Radiator Springs (the majority of the area) and Route 66 (what seems to be the main promenade).
2. The existing parade route (soon to be altered) will be dubbed El Camino Real ranging from ?Walt Disney Plaza? to the Beer Garden.
3. Buena Vista Street, an early Los Angeles neighborhood, will be the name of either a portion of Walt Disney Plaza (the lower left section of the red circle) or the whole land, replacing Walt Disney Plaza. - that is not official maybe BFJen who attended the presentation can clear that up.
4. The Red Car Line that spans from the entrance to the TOT.

Here's a couple more interesting points that I noticed looking at these pictures...

1. You can actually see how much larger the TLM building is in this new map as compared to the old maps. It's pretty clear that it's deeper, pushing back further into the BB play area, as well as a big expansion on the back side, north-west end of the building.

2. Another interesting point, clearly the clouds on Goofy ride are sound shields as they are strategically placed to block the screams at the turns from bothering people too much in the beer garden. Interesting because all of the other existing sound protection is for outside, not inside the park.

3. It definitely looks like there has been some changes to the NE area of Cars Land from the previous maps. The new map is hard to read, but it does look like a couple of structures have been added to the plans in that area and possibly the location of the Drive In has been moved slightly further north, and possibly Luigis Tires is bigger than orginally planned.

Anyone notice anything else?
