| MC Blogger | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker The Narnia movies are ok- better than Muppets, I think, but still not really attraction worthy. That space needs something spectacular, not another midgrade attraction.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker as for a narnia or muppet attraction and hollywood studios backlot as a whole, i believe that neither of the two attractions should be there, that is with the new theme the land will be taking on. I believe as Hollywoodland emerges and takes on the early hollywood atmosphere, we should get more attractions based on hollywood and early filmmaking, not a mystical land of narnia. don't get me wrong, a narnia ride sounds pretty cool to me but i dont think it should be there, only on the basis that it's a movie. I think the new theme of Hollywoodland would really only allow Tot and the Hyperion to stay. The others attractions dont really fit with the land. As for a hotel in that corner of the park, I think one looking into the park would be great. One thing i thought about though was wouldn't the rooms not facing DCA have a view of the backstage area behind Space Mountain? Maybe the hotel would be better placed around tot and in between tot and the hyperion. but that space is a little small and squished.

As for the hotel...there could be a simple fix to the rooms facing the section behind Space Mountain. Angle them in such a way that they can't see into that area. Another option would be to not have rooms face that direction at all and have a grand lobby. A third option would be to have a certain level of floors on that side of the hotel and have the higher floors face into the park or Harbor. - Joe

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker I do not think that the problem is with the Imagineers but with upper management. The past and current management does not want to take any sort of risk on anything unknown. If a movie was a hit then they figure that an attraction will also be a hit.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker Actually part of the problem is that too many good Imagineers get frustrated and leave and end up working at Universal or other places. I really think that balance is the key and that movie based attractions do have their place in the parks, but they must be done right. Simply adding a character or movie theme does not guarantee success, it's not as simple as that. Anyway, I think WDI is at least trying to do much better attractions even though they are being forced to use franchise themes. While they are doing a Little Mermaid, they are also adding a beautiful building that will dramatically change the feel of PP. While they are adding Cars, they are adding an attraction that will have a dramatic improved ride system, top notch AAs and an amazing monument valley like structure that will create an needed berm and add drama to the whole park. I think if they are being pushed by management to use these themes, at least they are also doing a lot of important and thoughtful things to improve the park as a whole as well. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker As much as I like the Narnia movies, I realy hope they don't make an entire attraction committed to it. I wish Mickey's Philharmagic or the Walt Disney Story were still on the table :-( |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker Anyone know what the "backside of ... Cars Land" will look like? From onstage, the mountain background on top of the RSR show building will block out the outside world and power lines, but what will the backside of that look like from Katella, etc.? Will it be skeletal or will it be themed?

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker It will most likely look like a wherehouse wall. Large trees and landscaping will be planted to so that eventually it blocks some of the view |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker That's what I figured. While I know some will complain about that, personally I'm for spending all of the dollars on what you'll see from inside the park. I also think since it really won't be right against Harbor, a nice landscape area will look fine. |
