Fun little game my family would play on family trips to Disneyland every year. Who ever could spot the Matterhorn first won. Since DCA was built the Matterhorn isn't as easily seen....but the Sun Wheel, that will surely be seen! LOL I am thoroughly overjoyed with the overlay on the SunWheel. I love that vintage Mickey. Reminds me of the Old Disney Channel days.

Approaching from the North "Once Upon a Time" you used to see the Matterhorn from about three miles out. And it was a challenge to call it first. But now, between the freeway widening project that lowered it into a big trench with sound walls, erecting the Team Disney Anaheim building, the TDA Ball Road Parking Structure, the Sheraton Anaheim, that big glass office building on Disneyland Drive right at the offramp (and 50 years of tree growth...) you can't really see the Matterhorn at all till you are actually at the parking structure. Your only real chance is taking the carpool lane exit that gets you some altitude a bit further to the east, but even there all the buildings have blocked the vista. And I'm usually a little bit busy with my driving right at that point to look for the Matterhorn through the gaps... --<< Bruce >>--

But they're not making Paradise Pier match Toy Story Midway Mania in that sense. When they built TSMM, they made a conscious design effort to make all of Paradise Pier more victorian in style, to reflect a more nostalgic sea-side pier. Midway Mania was just the first one out of the pipeline with the rest soon to follow. And if you liked the theming of Paradise Pier, you'll love it even more when they're done with it. One can only hope that the music gets a redesign as well.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker I do have to say, I loved the music in the Pier area, as well as the Sunshine Plaza. But I'm sure they will come up with something equally awesome. Disney does really well with music.

if there is no waiy maybe they will let you in. It also would not hurt to be really friendly and kind to the cm's at the attraction

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker There is a chance. Don't put all your cards on the table though, but there are times when they have soft-opened for the public during AP previews, especially if there are not as many AP visitors inside. They have done this during CM previews as well with randomly selected park guests. |

Pressure point: "You don't want to break up the party and make me wait outside, do you?" (Insert "Puppy Dog Eyes" here and add the "quivering lower lip" if you can keep from busting out laughing.) Crude, could even be considered "fighting dirty" - but effective. ![]() --<< Bruce >>--
