Does anybody know the actual date that Toy Story Midway Mania is schedule to open. I know that they said summer 2008 but i hope it is open when i go in july

The exact date has not been officially released yet. But it is supposed to be sometime in June. As usual, soft openings may happen earlier, possibly by Memorial Day weekend.

i am also wondering what is that thing going through California Screamin'. when i look at it closely, it looks like another roller coater.

The first concept art in the Paradise Pier section and the close-up that shows Midways Marque has a mistake. The box like structure in front of screamin but behind midway is actually the Midway Mania show building which is actually behind the screamin structure. The sunburst that will replace the Mickey will not be cut at the bottom as shown. notice how the bunny hops also are getting blocked by the same building.

The only other attraction that will intertwine with Screamin is not shown in any concept art. That attraction will basically be on the western edge near and in the helix as well as the orange stinger.


The night picture of the Midway games area and soon to be renamed Mickey's funWheel shows the new victorian arches that should replace the gold sun arches on screamins supports. The track and coaster car moving above the area is Screamin's car.

If all goes well Midway Mania should see some soft opening in time for Spring Break. Official opening is Memorail weekend as of now

wow, awsome! How long do we have to wait for the boardwalk to be walled up completely?- hope they do it before Midway Mania opens..

and Baloo, do you have any idea what the ride near Screamin' will be? Or just shed some light on it? -sorry if that's something you can't say but I'm in the middle of a armchair imagineering project right now that is using that area you're talking about. If nothing else can I know if it will go onto the water?(if you can't tell me that's ok)

I'm really excited for TLM attraction looking at the pic of the outside. That whole area will be gorgeous at night.

All I have to say is that this area will be absolutely beautiful. I love the lights all over the buildings and I love the awnings and walkthroughs that are there too. Does anyone know if the pier that we walk around to get to California Screamin will still curved around? Or, will that are be redone also? I think what I mean is this, will the walkways keep the same paths?

Not that I'm the biggest fan of the area but is it staying or going?

It would be nice if it goes. It's themed well enough to the "Bugs Land" theme. But, what the heck does it have to do with California? We have bugs!? So does everywhere else in the world! Anyway, I hope it goes and that they move the hub back to there. That would be a LOT LOT LOT of construction, though. We'll have to wait and see!

Bugs Land is going nowhere... except it'll have a new neighbor in about four years... "Mater's Junkyard Jamboree" will be right next to it as you enter into Cars Land.

I am bummed out that there are no current plans on upgrading those sad looking tunnels/scream block tubes to a more Victorian look.

I like those things! they kind of make Screamin' look classy in a weird way. they could definetaly(sp) do some things to them

Bugsland is staying only the farm area will be removed.

The cars attraction that will be placed there has vehicles that look like tractors so it will be a neat transition.

so in other words there taking out the actual california themed area and keeping bugs land- not that I realy like the farm area but, why not both bugs land and the farm area go! mabye it'll go away in a second phase..
