Thumbs up Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Thought I'd comment in here. I know people who've played the ride. They ALL have said it's fantastic. Great reviews so far. Most of them haven't played MIB @ Universal, so I guess they have nothing to compare it to other than the no-frills Buzz Lightyear. Let's hope there's some Disney magic inside.

Apparently, it's Disney's most advanced ride system ever (at least in the U.S). Mania uses some pretty cool technology that should work really well. I sense a lot of downtimes for this ride....the technology being used sounds very sophisticated, so I wouldn't be surprised if this attraction runs into many hurdles shortly after opening ala Indiana Jones. Remember Indy's "detailed" rat projectors? Yea, you get my point .

I have been inside the station, and it's quite detailed. I can't wait to see the finished product. I didn't get a chance to see the cars, but I heard they were big. Much bigger than they look.

That is all, I could go into more detail, but I'll save that for next time.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, you're saying the Maliboomer will close in March? If so, that's a no. Sorry to ruin any dreams, but that is not happening. I wish it were true though.

Maliboomer is currently "rumored" to be removed, although I've heard some "other" internal rumors stating the opposite. So who knows. I hope it does get the boot, but it won't be in the near future.

The Mr. Potato head pic is cool, but has it ever been normal practice for Disney to show a partially completed animatronic before the ride comes out? Not that I'm complaining, I just thought that was strange.

I am so psyched for this ride and everything that's going on in California! I've never been to CA, and I'm glad that when I finally get the chance to my first experience should be a great one.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

The best thing they could do in DCA is add better themed rides, add restaurants, and keep the park open later so people can enjoy some of the good qualities of the park at night.

I'm looking forward to more restaurants like ABC Bistro or something like it. Sit down. Something that isn't outrageously expensive though.

If Walt Disney can drive a '54 Rambler through the jungle cruise giving a "Preview" of what the jungle cruise is going to be, Then this is fine.

Thanks! Now that you mention it, I remember him showing the Tiki birds with wires coming out and what-not on one of episodes from the Disney Treasures DVDs...

walt loved to show people what he was working on and actually show his audience how the "magic happens" ahh...if only he was alive today to do his show again.

ImagineerWarrior

As much as I agree, there are def. other rides there that could go first before Maliboomer. Now if they just got rid of all those CHEAP rides and put Disney quality in, life would be good. Let's face it...Orange stinger has NO DISNEY QUALITY in it. It's a park swing that goes in a circle vs. back and forth, and dressed up in a half peeled orange.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

What people need to remember about Paradise Pier is that it is supposed to be a throw back to the old Piers in California (or in history). Orange Stinger (Swings), Golden Zephyr, etc. are all throwbacks to those rides. Disney did follow through on bringing those rides back in an updated Disney fashion. Although it wasn't Disney's best, they did do what they intended I believe. Instead of just swings, they added a theme to it. Just something to think about.

the budget for the temporary entrance is relatively small for that though. I am actually glad that they do not spend too much on anything so temporary but since it will most likely last a year or two it might be needed.

They have walk ways on both sides, so i'm guessing about the same thing. You could block off the stage area and have people enter through a small door in the building and the exit from the small que area located outside.

While that might be true, I think because Disney failed to deliver on the smaller details with the area (as well with most the park). Most people probably failed (no fault there) to notice the effort with what the Imagineers were trying to do with the subject matter and tended to focus on the lack of immersive theming.
