Last that I heard, Zypher was getting the axe and hey were putting a large Lighthouse there... like the one from Pete's Dragon. it was supposed to serve not only as an icon but a control booth for WoC.

no, they really want to keep the zephyr. At one point it was going to be moved so that it became the prominent lands entrance.
That attraction is a one of-a-kind and was specifically built for the park from old specifications. Its also probably the only attraction from opening that fits the new theming

The Zephyr is one of my favorite rides at DCA. I hope they keep it. Unlike the Stinger, it's a ride that everyone in the family can do together.

Maybe instead of replacing the zephyer with the lighthouse. Replace orange stinger with the lighthouse. That way everybody is happy

Would the Orange Stinger fit into the Maliboomer location, inside the loop?

I think Mulholland Madness is supposed to get a retheming to some kind of Goofy attraction (no pun intended). Seriously, I have no idea why this ride even exists.

Anyway, ultimately, I hear that this ride will be removed. What is supposed to go in its place?

Not sure what would replace the orange stinger. I do know that one of the projects in consideration could be a flume ride for the pier.


Interesting thing is that several of the ideas that are being considered or are in the plans for DCA and the direction it is taking came from veteran WDI's suggestions'. For the last few years some of those retired WDI have been contacted and asked if they could give their insite on what would be the best direction for the Disneyland resort especially DCA.

Yes the same WDI that could do no wrong with the original Disneyland have actually been the ones that express their opinion in adding some classic cartoon characters into the attractions and have also expressed their liking to the addition of the new generation of characters in the parks.


Didn't you guys find it strange that all of a sudden classic characters are being considered for attractions or theming.

Like a Shoot-the-Chutes type water ride?

yes but more of a hybrid that would have elements of the original shoot the chute rides from the old seaside parks with a highly theme element added.


The original plans for DCA actually had one included but was a very simple up and down with little to no theming involved. Luckily it was cut and now if it is ever added it will be much more in line to what Disney attractions should look like
