So if the whole point of the retheme is to take the most UN-Walt Disneyesque park and make it a celebration of the life and legacy of Walt Disney, why not pay tribute to him in a way he would like, not they way Pixar would like him remembered (Cars, Bugs Life). OK I'm not really anti Pixar in the park but c'mon let's spend a few million on WALT-like features if we want the place to be truly evocative of the man and his true loves and passions.

Mermaid Grotto is going to be a small playarea themed to the Little Mermaid next to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid attraction. It will feature a walk-through sand castle, among other things.

From the 10/17 Disneyland Resort Press Release:
A Mermaid Grotto area with a fountain and sand castle will offer new play experiences for children.

Information is still unclear with this. Here's a rendering of the outside of the Little Mermaid showbuilding.

I don't know if the Mermaid Grotto play area will be indoors or not.. but if it isn't I imagine that it would take over the Corn Dog Castle/Sun Glass Shack area. But this is all speculation...

Won't the Grand California loom overhead in all it's Craftsman glory, especially after the DVC wing goes in? Photoshop that in over the cool sky with the Santa Ana driven smoke in the background.

MasterGracey, great idea and thank you for taking the time to do this. The multiple DCA threads are overwhelming and the lack of organization can be frustrating. So thank you for creating a more orderly and more informative process!

I think it's going to be similar to the DVD ride-through, except it won't have suspended ride vehicles. Instead, it'll utilize the tried-and-true Omnimover system (Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters).

The DVD attraction which was planned for Paris was going to be two stories with riders going from upper to lower levels. I don't think that we are going to see that sort of thing with the DCA.

Because both rides follow the plot of the movie there are going to be a lot of similar show scenes.
