It's the same structure, same location. It's just being rethemed and the orange is being taken off. Now you'll have a view of the entire pier as you swoop around. Could be kinda freaky almost feeling like you could fall in.

Oh, and Honor Hunter over at the Blue Sky Disney Blog posted on some of this and a few other things this morning as well.

Staying at Paradise Pier is kind of a long walk no matter what. You have to walk across the street to Grand Californian basically to get onto the main property. And no, you shouldn't have a problem getting in as of now. The main entrance is not going through their retrofitting just yet.

Pretty close to spot-on with what we've discussed here! Very cool indeed.

They're probably making a new movie for Soarin' so they can clone it in any of their parks...i.e. Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, etc.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

one thing i'd like to see at Paradise Pier is a structure (with an attraction) located in the eastern helix of Screamin'. This would help eliminate the view of the convention center.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

FI-

I strongly agree with the premise that something should be done to block the views to the convention center, I'm hoping the cliffs of RSR will help in this respect but I'm not sure they will in this location. I'm just not sure there would really be space where you describe for an attraction though. It seems kind of small and there would be a lot to work around. I think the ideal solution would be to move the queue for screamin' into that space to help block the views and get rid of that generically themed queue, I think that WDI is working on plans for somehting along those lines currently. Then there might be some space to work with in the old queue area which would be a good location for a small attraction, especially if any of there is any more room in the backstage areas that they could devote to the attraction as well.

Hey master gracey has there been any new images leaked lately? With all the recent news you'd think we'd get more concept art by now.

Use the BIG DIPPER at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk queue as an example, you hear the roar of the coaster while you're in line. Nice effect, gets you excited.

"There pretty much already is a Zepplin ride at DCA. It's in Flicks Fun Fair called "Flick's Fliers, it uses the exact same ride system as a typical Zepplin ride, so I wouldn't see the need for two the same ride."

well not true.

The golden zephyr was built from scratch and is the only one in existence. Flicks flyer is a compleltely diferent ride system.

The viewing area will not affect the golden zephyr and at the moment is not scheduled to go anywhere.
The jumping jelley fish are the ones in the chopping block leaving that area and the area used by the water play area opened for future development.
The orange stinger is the one that has gone from removal to staying to removal to staying and retheming.
The mermaid attraction also does not affect the corn dog castle and dino shack. That area is for future development..

the idea is to have wires along the route to make the trolley be authentic.

Also like it was mentioned the parade will no longer travel near the entrance or along grizlly falls.

It will run thru CarsLand and down to Paradise Pier

The Tokyo DisneySEA park will be getting the new Soarin' ride, but it won't be just a new movie being as it's for OLC and that it's going into Mediterranean Harbor.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

I'm sure blocking the views of the power lines, convention center and non Disney hotels are all pretty big concerns. I wonder if the canopy of trees at the Beergarden will block the Paradise Pier Hotel a little from the ground. It's a little overbearing.

I can't say about the beer gardens and the entire east side of the park, but I know that Cars Land's e-ticket ride's placement was to help solve part of the annoying anaheim sight lines. The canyons of radiator springs are there to block as much of it out as they can. Fantastic news indeed.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Yep, that's what I pointed out as well, and it is exciting, though I'm not really sure whether it will really block the view behind Screamin' of the convention center. I think it will for the views to the south, but it looks like you'd still be able to see the convention center there. Hopefully they can do something about that in the way they redo the Screamin' queue.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

I've been posting for a Frontierland or Toontown dark ride that would have a climatic tornado finale. "Silly Symphony Swings" with Mickey's "The Band Concert" in perhaps (my thoughts) an indoor facility in the CA Screamin' west helix would be the next best thing. I welcome it with open arms.
