Another interesting subject is King Titon's Carousel. I haven't heard of anything for that one. Not even a make-over.

nothing was going to happen to King Tritons Carousel except for minor cosmetic changes around the attraction. Recently though a decision was made that it clashed badly with the intricate detail of Midway Mania and now designs and money is being finalized to completely re-do the carousels structure.

I really should read all the posts before posting, ooks like someone already mentioned this

Actually, what you're saying may mean that's going to be even nicer than the other posts seemed to suggest to me so that's exciting. I didn't think they were saying it would be a new structure, but if it looked more like TSMM that would be awesome. (Though I'd rather see it relocated near TLM personally.)

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

i just thought about something. When Disney is redoing the entrance and making the new hub of Walt Disney Plaza, how are guests going to be able to access Hollywood Pictures Backlot? Maybe they will put a extremely dull corridor from Flik's Fun Fair to the back end of HPB near TOT?

That's a really good question. After construction itself, the logistics of *doing* construction in the middle of a (reasonably) high-traffic active park really intrigues me. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall at WED.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Sure would be interesting. In some ways I think it'd be better if they just planned everything out really well and got a bunch of crews on board and just closed down for like three or four months had work go on 24/7 and just get everything done at once. I know it would be a lot of lost revenue, but it might actually be cost less than letting this drag out over the next 4-5 years and having to deal with all of the other issues that will be caused by doing this much construction in an operating park.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

I'm sure they'll just put up high walls and make pathways that are constantly being moved as the construction progresses.

I'm hearing there will be a backstage pathway between Pacific Wharf & the Tower of Terror.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

^if they were to build a temporary pathway from pacific wharf to TOT, that would probably be the worst themed area ever to be seen be guests in a disney park. I bet all they're going to do is put up walls with vairous carsland pics and "coming 2012". With nothing else but a long corridor.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Which DCA attractions are closed due to all this work? We will be at DLR from May 28-30. I know some DCA attractions are expendable, but this is our first ever visit to DCA, and we would like to check most of them out. Thanks for the info.

Hmmm... I don't think there's that much work this year. Summer time is when they'd want to keep as much open for the guests to enjoy. The earth will probably begin shaking after the summer and if not then, early next year.

I don't think anything significant will be closed then. Most of the rest of PP is not supposed to happen until after the summer, and I don't think work on the new entrance will probably start until early next year. Actually, I think the park will not have much construction going on this summer, because they want to make a good impression for the premiere of TSMM and not have too much walled off.

OK, thanks guys. Do you know if we will be able to ride TSMM? It's still in soft opening, right?

The official opening date is June 17th, so whether or not soft openings will even be ready by the time you show up...well you never know! Some CMs are riding it as we speak so it very well could be rideable when you're here. I hope it is!

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker

Cast Members were able to ride TSMM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday last week as a kinda soft CM opening. The actual ticketed CM preview will be in the first week of June. I assume they will be doing soft previews for guests shortly after that. Dont miss it!
