![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker Lol, I dont think Disney would ever represent System of a Down. That's like Disney getting a coaster based Rage against the Machine. Point is Disney dont wan't a band that puts down the government. The worst your gonna get with Red Hit Chilli Peppers is "Californication" so Red Hot would be a better choice.

'Screamin' works by mimicking the look of a wooden boardwalk coaster. How does Rockin Roller Coaster fit in? I realize it's an indoor attraction so you wouldn't see it, but there is no connection to the 20's/30's theme there at all; it would be pretty anachronistic to tell you the truth. Any new coaster attraction will need to incorporate the theme.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker Pumba structure? Where did you hear that? Everything I had heard was that was all going to be used for future expansion of DCA eventually. I don't think that would be a very good idea. |

It would be a good place for a multi-level parking garage, even dig a hole and put a few more levels underground, but they haven't spent the money yet. And if they build a structure it would be far more useful as a Cast Member lot, because if it gets used regularly they would have to run shuttle buses to DL or DCA or Third Park. --<< Bruce >>--

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker During Westcot days that was the site of parking structure 2 with direct off ramps from NB 5. There is a large strip of land in front of that area for the tram stop and for it to tunnel under Harbor. Thats why the Lion King Tram is still needed. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker Oh, ok. The post made me think he was talking about the area that will remain between Carsland and Hollywoodland in the former Timon lot. I guess I could see that location working ok. I kind of think Bruce is right that that location would be a good location for a CM structure, but Dis probably doesn't want to pay for that. It seems like they have several options though for parking structures in various locations, but getting people to the gates efficiently is going to be a challenge with any of them. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker I looked at the map, now I see you're talking about MF. I didn't notice that empty strip of land that you're talking about. I guess that could work pretty well. The idea of harbor having to be shut down to build this tunnel is a little worrisome, but I guess once Carsland is built, if they can get everyone used to not coming onto Harbor to access the parks at all, I guess it could be done. I guess they'll need to decide if that's the route they want to go or if they want to use that land for something else. I can see benefits to each option to some extent and it all will depend a lot on the overall long term resort expansion plans. |

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker The "large strip of land" isn't totally vacant - it is the Right Of Way for the power transmission line towers on it, the ones that used to cut across the DL parking lot till they were re-routed closer to Katella. They could use that strip of land for a tram route and tunnel under Harbor Bl., but that's a huge chunk of change to build. If Puumba is built out as a Cast Member lot/structure they won't arrive and leave in a huge surge, and buses could handle it. --<< Bruce >>--

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker They can actually avoid shutting Harbor down when building a tram tunnel if they use the landscaping area on Disney property west of Harbor to reroute traffic. They do this all the time on CA freeways when building new bridges. They could shift north/south bound Harbor to the west, build the northbound "overpass", then shift northbound on to it and build the southbound "overpass". These things are always messy but allow traffic to remain flowing.

![]() | Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker That's a good point Mojave, I guess they probably could, and would do that. It would still be a mess somewhat, but that would help a lot. |
