Disneyland Resort President Matt Ouimet spoke of Walt Disney's dream to bring a theme park to Orange County and outlined the resort's 50th-anniversary celebrations to the Orange County Forum on Thursday.

Ouimet, named president of the resort in 2003, served as the head of Disney Cruise Lines operations before coming to Orange County.

Ouimet spoke on the "value of tourism." Disneyland brings an estimated $3.6 billion to the Southern California economy each year and employs more than 20,000 workers.

He also spoke of Disneyland's philanthropic contributions to the community: $10 million in cash and in kind support to families and children.
