TR 10/22, 10/24-25: Wildfires, Villians, and Newlyweds!

So, what does a San Diegan do when the air is clogged with smoke and school and work are canceled for the week? Go to Disneyland as many times as possible, of course!

My boyfriend and I were planning to go to DL on Monday with our friends who had just gotten married on Sunday 10/21. But they had to stay behind since they almost had to evacuate. So Monday was just Ryan and I.
(I'm posting the pictures as links, since Photobucket didn't resize them, and even when I try to use the picture icon for a thread here, they still end up huge!)

This is the air quality about 25 miles from my house on the way up to Disneyland. That's smoke, not fog.

We first saw Cruella DeVille! She was great. She asked Ryan "Who's YOUR favorite Princess?" he pointed to me and said "Her" but she cut off him off and said "Me!". Ha ha, I loved her so we took a few pictures.

Then Cruella showed up and PUSH was talking to her. She dropped her cigarette holder and called a child over to come pick it up for her.

I tried to get a photo with Hook too, but too many people kept coming up, forming new lines and cutting people. The photopass lady tried to help out, but people werent listening. There were two Character Hosts there too, but they didn't do anything about the cutting either. Too bad, since Hook was SUCH a ham! He was great, he kept tesing Jafar, and flirting with ladies, checking his teeth in video camera screens, etc. He was fun.

After some rides we over to one of my favorite place in DCA, the Animation building. We wanted to check out the Toy Story Zoetrope.. which is pretty much the most amazing thing ever!

And then a strobe light turn on, and the whole thing looks like a cartoon in motion! It doesn't sound very impressive, but it really is amazing. Here is a video of it I found on YouTube, the quality isn't great because YouTube compresses so much and because of the strobe light.

We saw Mrs. Incredible/ Elastigirl doing Meet and Greets and she was so cool! There wasn't anybody around so we got to play with her for while. We sang/danced along to the Disney music playing in the building and then we took a bunch of pictures, including Super Hero poses.

Pirates of the Carribean was a walk-on ride. We didn't wait at all, we walked right up and got on the ride, it was awesome. I love this ride.

Haunted Mansion Holiday was a walk-on too. then we rode some Fantasyland rides like Snow White and Mr. Toad. We checked the line for Nemo, but it was still 45 minutes, which is longer than we want to wait. So we decided to go home an hour before the park closed to beat the traffic

So, our Newlywed friends couldn't make it to Disney on Monday due to the fires, but once the knew their home wasn't in danger anymore, it was off to Disneyland again!

Back to Disney on Thursday! This time with my friend Jennifer who also has a pass. While I was at DL on on Wed I called her to see if she worked the next day, she didn't and since school was still out we decided to go. My third time for the week!

We saw Cruella again, I wanted to see if she said anything about my shirt which says "I Love My Dog" she said "I love mine too, except I love them to DEATH!" she was a great Cruella! I never really liked Cruella as a movie villian, but she is SUCH fun park character!!

These are great shots, DR! That first shot of the smoke over the freeway is just eery, and I love the shots of the villians in DCA. I just wish more people could see them, as they might not have enough time to click on them individually.

If you have already resized all of your shots in your photobucket acct, usually you will need to rename them before Micechat will recognize the different file size. Here is your first shot after I just downloaded it and sent it to my photobucket account:




Now...if you want to resize it, you might have to drag the resized photo back out onto your desktop and rename it, and upload it again. It should turn out like...



It would be a bit time consuming, but I think you'll get quite a few more views of these great shots. I think the trick is that you have to have your shots the size that you want them to be before sending them to the micechat server. Once they're the right size, all you have to do is copy the IMG code line and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the tip localdisnyfan! I'll try that with my next Trip Report, but for this one I don't think I have the time to go through and re-upload and re-size of each of my photos. But seeing as i'm stil new to posting TR's (only my sceond one) i'll hopefully beable to post the full pictures in the coming reports!
