    Main Street second story windows

I haven't been to Disneyland in a few years, but the last time I was there, I recall that there were some interesting second-story window signs. I recall signs for a massage parlor, Chinese restaurant, piano teacher, and a few others.

Are these still around? I know that sometimes the names of various Disney executives, Imagineers, and other VIPs get added to the Main Street windows, so I wasn't sure if any of the older, Main Street-themed store signs had gotten replaced.

    Thanks!

Oh, they're there, alright. In fact, they have been added to just in the past year!

    Massage Parlor??

Must be in the "low rent" district of Main St.

Or is it the "red light" district??

Little did the town fathers realize that the Hotel Marceline was merely a front for all the illicit activities in that corner of Missouri...

Well, let's see... On March 30th of this year, Roger Broggie was honored with a window of his own. Broggie is known for his work on the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad and Audio-Animatronic figures and is often credited as the first Imagineer.

The second floor windows on Main Street, Adventureland and Toontown will never be removed. The ones on Main Street were placed there by Walt Disney to give "Screen Credit" to the people from the studio that worked on designing and building the Park. The store names under or around their name indicates their "Hobby". The company has kept this tradition with the windows in Toon Town. Advnetureland only has a couple, but they are major names in the design of the Park.

There is an excellent book out by Van France called "Windows of Main Street" that explains every window, the person named and his/her background. I think it is still available, but I am not sure. It is a fascinating book in any case. Lots of window pictures and Van France himself was an amazing man.

I believe Fess Parker, who played Davy Crockett, recently received a window in Frontierland.
