Y'know, if I had his books here in front of me I could probably look that stuff up. In fact, I'd say those books are a must have for any Disney rail-fan.

It's your project. You don't have to be 100% historically accurate in that detail.
Put the Santa Fe & Disneyland RR in there just for comparison sake. If it'll be more enjoyable to you, that's what matters.
Hey! Save that "expert" talk for Kevin Yee!
Seriously, I discover new things about the Disneyland Railroad and its history nearly every day! It boggles my mind to think about how much there is to know about this seemingly-simple "amusement park attraction."
Anyway, I don't have the books in front of me either, so I'm going off memory.
Like most of us, as the Park got older, its waistline expanded as well!
Yes, the tracks have been re-routed several times over the years, on all three sides. On the Frontierland side, the tracks were re-routed to make way for New Orleans Square. To give you an idea of just how far out they were moved, you have to remember that Frontierland Station once stood just about where the Blue Bayou entrance is now.
I have a survey marker from when the tracks were re-routed in Frontierland. I believe the date marked on it is 1964. The tracks also pushed out at the top for Small World, and bulged to make room for the GC/Primeval World.

I have a funny story regarding this ride. Actually, just the soundtrack. I was on a run while listening to this ride spiel on my iPod. The area I was running was pretty dry (desert like) so I am always on the look out for snakes and things. Well it got to the part in the ride where the rattle snake appeared. When the headphones made the 'rattle' sound, I jumped right out of my shoes!
This was one of the most startling experiences of my life!

Right you are CA. And since the 'era' I'm modeling is very loosely defined as 1960-1977, I feel free to include whatever details from that period that I like - and I like the SF&DRR running right along side as it did pre-1964.
On a side note, I may not be able to fit the Mark Twain in on the RoA, but I'll definately be including one of the Mike Fink Keel Boats and an Indian War Canoe or two 'racing' in front of Cascade Peak.

No, don't do that! There's only one thing worse than waking up at 2 AM and finding the side of your face stuck to a page of a magazine that's all mussed up, and that's finding it stuck to a valuable reference book that's all mussed up.
Besides, that's the lind of reading that's more likely to have you still up to greet the dawn, rather than put you to sleep. I use technical catalogs for that...

Something Similiar to this ride is in waiting to get green lit for the 2nd Phase of DCA; this will be located somewhere in the Condor Flatts Area, if this gets the green light we should see this in 20014-20017. Depends if the First Phase gets the Money to Fund it.
18,007 years from now sure is a long way off!
