Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

Well, I hope people are keeping their ears open.

I don't suppose the tree has been moved into place as of yet. They have to get it situated well before the 16th---I would think.

I'm looking for a thread from last year "O' Christmas Tree" that shows the exact date the tree was moved into place.

Isn't the Christmas Loop one of the first things to begin before anything else?

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

I thought the rumors of a loop being added to Main Street had been finally laid to rest...

No, but seriously, I don't know. If I could just head over to Disneyland, I'd be sure to listen and let you know.

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

As of yesterday, the park was still taking down Halloween decorations and new decorations were going up in New Orleans Square. The Christmas tree is backstage and men were spraying water on it, while standing on a lift. Disneyland has not even begun to decorate the Christmas tree yet. Maybe next week we will all of the Main Street decorations up.

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

I wouldn't expect the "Christmas" music to be turned or the themed decorations deployed in full force until after Thanksgiving, even though it's as simple as switching the CD in the player. They might wait till the end of the holiday weekend, they might turn it on and start the decorating on Friday morning.

But considering that Disneyland yanked the main parts of the Halloween stuff overnight on October 31st, it could happen on T-day Friday...

The "Big Business" forces would love to push the Christmas selling season all the way back to September - luckily there are a few other holidays in the way that keep them from pushing it too far.

Why wouldn't the music start when DL's holiday season begins on the 16th?? That's around when it's started in the past....

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

Listen, Christmas is in full swing, whether you like it or not !

Macy's Holiday Lane (beautiful things!) has been open for several weeks now---all the malls (Del Amo) are fully decorated...

...and the Main Street Christmas Loop comes on at least a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, always.

Now would be the perfect time to move the tree right into place. With the time change, they've got an extra hour.

I know the Park closes late, tonight and Sunday; but, I'm gonna bet Monday night is the night.

I'm predicting this Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, at the very latest....that tree will be fully in place.

Whether it's lit at that time, remains to be seen. But I'm betting it's right there, fully decorated by Tuesday morning.

The Loop should be going at that time too.

Say, can anyone get me an actual podcast of the Main Street Christmas
Loop ?

I know there is a classic Disney Loops website, but they don't have actual samples of the Main Street Christmas Loopsongs---which are hard to find.

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

^ Nobody ever said Christmas wasn't in full swing....it's just too early for everything to be up and ready. Personally, I don't consider Christmas to be in "full swing" until the day after Thanksgiving. The malls & commercial America can attempt to twist my arm whichever way they please, but I'm not gonna give in by putting up my decorations the day after Halloween. That's just too early. Still, everyone has the right to their own opinions on the subject. Regardless, like I said before the Christmas loop will be playing for sure on Nov. 16th, but any earlier than that is iffy.

As for the tree, I think it's a little too optimistic to be expecting it up next Tuesday. They still aren't even done prepping and filling out the tree!! As much as I'm looking forward to it, too, I wouldn't expect it up so soon.

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

Well, they need to get a move on !

The days are going fast. Tomorrow we'll have an extra hour....and then that's it. Time picks up again....and before you know it...it's January 6th, when everything is yanked down.

It would be nice to have a solid two months of decorations...whether or not the celebration, and actual parades/shows have begun or not.

Again, it goes so quickly at this time of the year---that's why people begin early.

After Thanksgiving, nobody has any time left, not to mention colds, foul weather, etc...

Better to do it now, hustle, and have it done with.

Re: Has the Main Street Christmas Loop begun yet?

^ Not to be rude, but the only "people" I see with decorations up so far are the malls and stores....

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, too, especially in DL. However, I don't think the public follows corporate America's schedule for holiday decorations.

The christmas loop isn't on yet, thank god.

Really, it would do them better if they had the same group that does the regular one also compose the new one.
