Should they change DCA's dedication plaque?

"To all who believe in the power of dreams... Welcome! Disney's California Adventure opens its golden gates to you. Here we pay tribute to the dreamers of the past... the native people, explorers, immigrants, aviators, entrepreneurs and entertainers who built the Golden State. And we salute a new generation of dreamers who are creating the wonders of tomorrow... from the silver screen to the computer screen... from the fertile farmlands to the far reaches of space. Disney's California Adventure celebrates the richness and diversity of California... it's land, it's people, it's spirit and, above all, the dreams that it continues to inspire."

It is rumored that the overhaul of DCA will consist of changing it's name and dropping the California theme.

If these rumors are true, I believe Iger should re-dedicate the theme park and create something a little more approriate to it's new direction and design.
Would this also be Iger's first dedication speech for a Disney theme park or did he dedicate HKDL?

    Your thoughts?
"If you build it right, they will come." - Bob Iger

"I'm not a literary person. As far as realism is concerned, you can find dirt anyplace you look for it. I'm one of those optimists. There's always a rainbow." - Walt Disney

"I don't care about critics. Critics take themselves too seriously. They think the only way to be noticed and to be the smart guy is to pick and find fault with things. It's the public I'm making pictures for." - Walt Disney

My first inclination was to say, change the park to fit the plaque, not the other way around.

EVERYTHING with Eisner's name on it should be removed.

Oh, and 7 Dwarfs Building on the Disney Studio Lot ~
it really shouldn't be named after the Eisner, either.
Eisner didn't have ANYTHING to do with the success
    that got that building made.

That empty unused Animation Building at the Studios
in WDW would be much more appropriate for an Eisner
    Dedication.

LOL, well, at least add another plaque to go with this one.

I'm sorry, but I happen to like Indy quite a bit.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a re-dedication, provided it was one with better opportunities for themes and attractions--and themed attractions!

Or maybe on one of the many lavish CM break rooms (areas)...

DCA complete retheme sans California? I hope not. The park is really a genius way to let tourists see all of California's major offerings without leaving Anaheim. I mean, it's not really doing that job now, but with some tweaking, it could be a really great marketing ploy. Not to mention something actually worth seeing.
And I second what 2DieFR said. The plaque is appropriate, the park itself is not the way it is now.

The plaque certainly sounds like a good idea for a theme park...

    Yes, it should be rededicated.

Actually, no, that was the problem in the first place. Most people will tell you that a theme park about California in California is a monumentally stupid idea.

The DCA upgrade is going to recreate a bygone era in California history and feature things that don't exist anymore, such as the Carthay Circle Theater and the Red Cars. This whole idea that you can visit DCA instead of visiting California is largely a thing of the past and I doubt anyone involved with the upgrade is thinking anything along those lines.

Disney has never built such a terrible theme park before. If the name of the park is changed than Eisner's dedication won't make sense anyway.

I hope they order enough of these rededication plaques though. Walt Disney Studios Paris might need one too.

Well if the new partners statue for DCA is any indication of whats happening I would think the Eisner dedication is history as soon as they start demo.

I wish I had never even heard of Michael Eisner.

After the shareholder revolt of 2003, his name should be expunged from every surface.
