    Re: Disneyland on Thanksgiving

My family will be going on Mon, Tues, and Wed, but we can't go on Thanksgiving because we only have Deluxes.

Is it super busy the days before Thanksgiving? Anybody know? Perhaps will rethink our travel plans. We've never been to Disneyland when it's been really crowded.

Also, the only dinner reservations we were able to get a few weeks ago for Thanksgiving are at PCH Grill. Never been there before. Do you all know if it's nice enough for a Thanksgiving dinner? I know that's subjective, but I wanted some opinions on that.

I've only eaten the breakfast buffet there, and the food is good. It is a very casual place. Kid friendly. Hawaiian (Stitch ) theme. Not a huge restaurant. Cozy.

That is so funny because when I went on Thanksgiving Day in 2003 it wasn't bad at all. I guess I still haven't figured out the crowd patterns.

Consider the weekdays before T-Day like weekend days as far as crowds
    go.

It gets VERY busy Wednesday afternoon and into the evening.

DL is open late all week for that reason...

One year they gave away turkeys.
    Dropped them from a helicopter.

Sounds like Thanksgiving with my family.

    Re: Disneyland on Thanksgiving

I went to Disneyland for the very first time on the Black Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving (I was going to be down that way anyway, so I decided to go even though I knew it would be crowded).

I still had a great time because it was my first time, but part of the way we handled the crowds was by focusing on less popular attractions for much of the day--but even those had pretty long lines.

To me though, the thing to realize is that it's not going to be "Thanksgiving" themed at all--it's already getting decked out for Christmas, and by then it will be fully Christmas-ready.

You have DL mixed up with WKRP.

Everything is all mixed up in my head.
DL had the hot-bod receptionist, WKRP had Goofy.

Consider that millions of SoCal folk have relatives visiting for the Holiday. If even only a fraction of those decide to go to DL it will be mobbed.

The first day you use your new annual pass is ALWAYS included--doesn't matter if it's a blockout day or not... you'll be fine, so don't worry.

    Re: Disneyland on Thanksgiving

how do the crowds translate in terms of waiting in lines? Are we talking an hour? 2 hours? And is there any significant change from Thanksgiving day to Black friday or the saturday after, or is it crowded no matter what?
