The Rocket Rods MUST be open! Sadly, I will never have a complete Disney trip until they are restored.

For me it doesn't matter what rides are closed, because in truth Disneyland isn't about the rides. Disneyland will forever be changing, rides will close, even be replaced, but as long as the atmosphere of the park is open, I'll be happy to walk in.

i am crushed when BTMRR and IJA are closed. without them i don't feel like my visit is complete- or i've been cheated or something.
Haunted Mansion--I don't mind the overlay (HMH), but it's still gotta be open.

I guess i'm not disappointed that IASW will be closed, because we do it evertime we go, I have the whole thing on film (dvd) from our previous trip.
I just keep remembering that quote ...

As long as there's a Sunday, a bench in the Hub, MiceChatters, and a place to eat lunch - it's a perfect trip for me.![]()

While I generally do not ride it I would have to say the J.C. There is something magical about walking through the Esplanade and hearing those familiar two shots ring out from the Jungle. For those of use who have done it, it could be summed up as "Welcome home Skip". Also the J.C. Boathouse is roughly a third of Adventureland, whenever they board it up it just looks sad!

Being a summer warrior, I usually experience 100% attraction operation. The only exception was when Space Mountain was being redone. I've even been in October and seen everything still going (that was in 2005).
The only times I've ever experience attraction refurb during a trip was in the 80's when small world was being refurbed (that might have been they redid the queue to the way we see it today) and in March of 1990 when PeopleMover, Casey Jr, Storybookland, and Haunted Mansion were all getting a refurb. Last year we went on Labor Day weekend and our last day in the parks was the first day of the Matterhorn refurb.
I can honestly say I still enjoy the time I have regardless, albeit feels like there is something missing from the big picture.
Indiana Jones is really the only ride that HAS to be open when I go. If it's closed, it's not going to be a fun trip.
I've gone to Disneyland when Haunted Mansion was closed before, and I lived, but I really really missed it the whole. It made it seem like a looooong trip.![]()

We only go to Disneyland every 12 - 18 months and we are not about to cancel a trip if a few rides are down. We need our fix to badly
We definitely prefer it if all the rides are up and running, but we won't ever shy away if they aren't. We went this last spring on Mother's Day weekend and Splash was supposed to be closed. We had read Al's update that they were going to be doing soft openings and as such hung out fairly near to Splash when we could and were among the first back on it after it's lengthy closure. But if we had missed it we would still have loved our trip. We enjoy what's open and love every minute of it no matter what.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
As often as I am fortunate enough to be able to go, it doesn't bother me much if rides are down. However, I will say that when the Haunted Mansion is closed, it doesn't feel complete. It also feels a little "off" when it's HMH, but this isn't the thread for that discussion.
I'll also add that my WDW honeymoon was during the major Pirates rehab, and being in the parks for a week and not getting to ride POTC even once felt just wrong.
