I would say that one, Percy Faith's Music of Christmas Vol. 2---and the David Rose Christmas Album are probably the two most sought-after rare Christmas albums that are out-of-print.
Here's one for $10 bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Irvi...im_dbs_m_img_1 There's another one, http://www.amazon.com/Music-Christma...d_bxgy_m_img_b for the same price. And yet another - http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Cele...d_sim_m_img_49
I know I've seen two of them at Borders as well. Music of Christmas Vol. 2, maybe not, but his other Christmas albums (which are on the Epcot Loop) are readily available...

It’s strictly business.

I found an LP copy of Music of Christmas Vol. 2 at the thrift store a while ago, for 50 cents. Should I sell this album for $100?

Yeah, the guy mentioned above trying to sell his LP for $155 will probably sit there for many months before he finally gives up and sells it for $1.99. Just because they're asking that much doesn't necessarily mean it's either worth that much or will sell for that much.

So I say good luck!

Re: Al Lutz 2005 article about Main Street Christmas Loop:

A guy online is selling his David Rose CASSETTE for $85... well, it hasn't sold yet, so I agree that's a pretty optimistic amount. I found someone else who was willing to part with his LP for $25, and only $20 if I wanted just the mp3s he'd recorded off it.

psh.

It's a CD, and I don't know what the quality is, if it's still in the original packaging or not.

A good-quality CD would be worth something, as Percy Faith's Volume 2 is outstanding and hard-to-find....ON CD !!!

Daddy B, that is an outrageous amount for a cassette. I think that person is nuts! Even $20 bucks is too much.

By the way, I looked at the LP I have and didn't see a scratch on it! The person who sold it to me actually covered the LP with plastic wrap inside the jacket. Whoo hoo!

Seriously, if y'all keep your eyes open for those albums you're looking for throughout the year, I'll bet you'll find them for cheap. I've sold (and bought) on Ebay long enough to know this is true. Around Christmas there's more of a demand, and I really believe the greedy sellers out there hike their prices accordingly.

Re: Al Lutz 2005 article about Main Street Christmas Loop:

Al's reposted his Christmas Music Loop report for this year. Hurray!

I'd like to add that the hard to find (and long out of print) Ed Sullivan and David Rose LPs are out there on the net. Google is your friend. Sometimes searching for the song name and artist in quotes gets better results than searching for the whole album. I've also found that the "Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra" is often simply called "Hollywood Bowl Symphony"

If you'd love to hear some really hard-to-find, out-of-print, never-released-on-CD Christmas albums, there are some websites out there that digitize these old CHRISTMAS albums and put the MP3s out for free download. www.falalala.com and www.ernienotbert.blogspot.com are two of the best I've seen. You're not going to find anything there that's available elsewhere for sale because they are very careful about copyrights. Much of their stuff is from as far back as the 40's and even recorded from 78s!!! I found a "Kukla, Fran and Ollie" Christmas LP that was a kick to listen to! (but that's taking us off topic).

PM me if you'd like help tracking these tracks down (pun intended). The hunt was part of the fun!

I POSTED EARLIER IN THIS THREAD (and updated the info here tonight):
I have a CORRECTED list from my searchings these past few weeks... what's online at disneymusicloops is currently not quite correct. I sent the updated file to Kirsten who runs disneymusicloops, but she evidently hasn't had the chance to update her list. This is the correct list, and available here:

Also, I have it listed by ALBUM here which makes it easier to go searching for what you want (note that it is not just a simple resort of the data in the XL file)

If you have Microsoft Excel and prefer to download the file to your computer that way, just change the links above from the .pdf extensions to the .xls extension and download it that way.
