Not Just The Castle Next Year

I dont know if this has been talked about yet but the plan is to extend the snow effect all the way down main street next year. They havent even finnished the castle yet and they already are planning for next year. I quess the effect must really be cool if they are already going forward with plans for next year.

If they are going to all this trouble, you'd think they could extend it out, either get started earlier, or keep it going on into the middle of January.

As it is, this stuff doesn't even go for two months. The days are speeding up, and such a narrow window of time to see it all...

I think it's a great idea! I'd love to see Main St. decked out in snow as well. It'd really help solidify the idea, especially with the Matterhorn already covered in snow year-round. Does this finally mean we'll be able to see the 50th fireworks as they were originally rumored to be, just reincarnated as Believe?? (Anyone remember those rumors? Where Main St. was supposed to be recovered in fiber optics for additional effects during the new show....)

The only problem I have is with people referring to the lights as "Costco" lights. Yeah, they're icicle lights, but they're obviously custom designed and are not just randomly bought from a store. Plus, they need 200+ individual channels just to control all the effects for the snow!! It's obviously not an off-the-shelf undertaking going on here.

It wouldn't be MiceChat if we didn't bit...erm, complain about everything. Crankiness is a sign of higher standards, after all!

That would be pretty cool espically when its "snowing" on Main Street.

Hey, maybe for the "Parade of Holiday Dreams" armchair imagineers like me, it'll "snow" during the finale, don't you think?

    Hmm.

I'd think TDA would wait until the poll results come in about the castle this year before they start worrying about how to expand next year.

Interesting you say this. The last two weekends there have been surveyors all over the place in the parks. Normally you just see them right as you enter but on Saturday they were all over the place. In Tomorrowland, along Main Street, in Adventureland. Obviously Disney is up to something...

I actually wish they would do a snow effect and overlay in Dca's Grizzley peake area.

How dificult would it be to add some fake snow blankets in areas of the mountain side as well as several hidden bubble machine sorry snow machines within the trees. The whole grizley peake area could become a really nice center piece for a winter holiday.

    Why that sounds positively devious.

Well they could use them at Coke corner. It's getting harder and harder to convince people the white stuff on the ground is compliments of pigeons, not snowy weather!
