Question Dining At The Other Park Up The Freeway (More sit down choices at DL?)

    Hey guys,

Me and my g/f just made one of our soon to be many trips to that other theme park off the 5 thats not Knotts, you know, it's name has something to do with Flags and Magic.

While DLR and Six Flags are two diffrent beasts as far as parks go, what shocked me was that me, the g/f, and two other friends were able to get a table at a sit down restaraunt, in the park, and only had to wait 15 minutes...Unlike going to DLR where you have to call a month in advance.
I understand that DLR probably services more people than Six Flags, however, we were at the park during Fright Fest, and it was a weekend.

My whole point to this is i was just wondering what the MiceChatters thought of maybe DLR having more sit downs in the park?

Another thing i noticed was that six flags had just a marginally better variety of food choices than DLR, which, for us non meat eaters, is a good thing.

    Bob

    Sorry if i rambled.

DLR has plenty of sit downs. People just have to look for them.

    Main Street USA:
    Carnation Cafe

    New Orleans Square:
    Blue Bayou
    Cafe Orleans

    DCA:
    Vineyard Room
    Ariel's Grotto

    Grand Californian Hotel:
    Napa Rose
    Storytellers Cafe

    Disneyland Hotel:
    Steakhouse 55
    Hook's Pointe
    Goofy's Kitchen

    Paradise Pier Hotel:
    Yamabuki
    PCH Grill

It would be fun if the MiceChat meet loaded everyone in a limo some time to ride over to Knott's for lunch or dinner at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Or we might need a bus.

I probably should have been more specific, but i was mainly just considering the parks themselves. I know Disneyland is a Resort Destination now, my main point was just that sit down options are rather thin, if your just in Disneyland, by itself.

You're absolutely right, Disneyland needs more good THEMED restaurants like Tahitian Terrace/Chinese Food Plaza Pavilion at HKDL that we could so easily open here.

the "flags" park, IMO, is geared towards a younger croud and they probably OD on junk food and don't want to waste in the park time doing a sit down meal! then you take in the size of each and capacity... I can easily see how you can get a table at one and not the other...

At DL during the week, I've never had to make reservations except during summer... never had more than a 10-15 minute wait - and Blue Bayou had lunch seating available in the morning when we arrived also - no need for priority seating via phone.

Re: Dining At The Other Park Up The Freeway (More sit down choices at DL?)

    Thanks....

I much more of a DL person than a Magic Mountain person, my g/f is the other way. She likes the thrills and everything, but does love the mouse to. But, having been to DL 7 times this year, and making the trip to the Mountain, i just noticed that dining on a whole, minus the funnel cake at the end of the night, was a little more easy going there.

Maybe the food wasnt great, but just being able to go to a sit down dining establishment, in the park, and not have to fight the food lines, people not knowing what they want, and all that assorted business was great, and like i said before, we didnt have to call a head.

I understand if Disney wants reservations for say the Bayou, thats all good. Its themed, and i am still waiting for my first trip there. My question is still is there ways to get more sit down dining, but not have to make a reservation a week before for it?

All very good, and true points. It is geared toward a different crowd, a little more older than your average Disney crowd. Which, on a side note, i think i only counted 5 to 6 strollers the whole time i was there. Hazzah!

Maybe its just my luck, but even during "off" season during the week, i've never been able to get a seat at the Blue Bayou. Perhaps Mickey is just after me?
