Disneyland the Nickel tour, book is now going for over $250 average!

The late David Mumford and Bruce Gordon (may they rest in peace) Disneyland the nickel tour book is now demanding over $250 dollars a copy due to there limited printing and collectors value.
Does anyone know if there were any plans to have had a 3rd printing (prior to the untimely passing of both extraordinary gentlemen?) Or can we expect the prices of these books to rise even higher? I have heard nothing but praise about the Nickel tour and am tempted to purchase this even at the highly inflated cost (original price was $75)
Of course a 3rd printing should be the last thing on anyones mind now in this time of mourning but I am especially interested in this book and preserving this special legacy of David and Bruce's work.

I'm sure you can find it for cheaper than that. Those prices are what the sellers throw out to the public - the public has to actually pay that much in order to make it the value. If you are patient, I say keep your eyes open for it on Ebay, or if possible go to the NFFC shows to find a copy. It may not be the first printing, but it would definitely be worth it to add to your collection. (Personally I think it's priceless!)

Another excellent book if you can find it (there's one on Ebay right now) is Disneyland: Inside Story by Randy Bright. If you're a Disneylander you'll love it.

David Mumford was a close friend of mine and as much as I think he'd laugh out loud at people trying to sell Nickel Tour for $250, I'm sure he wouldn't want you to pay that much for it.

Oh shnap! I have both first ed. and second ed. of The Nickel Tour!

Is this a time of mourning? I was under the impression that this is a fair time of celebration, what with DCA Trackers, rumors of Tomorrowland extensions, and - DVC expansions!

Yeah, I have two copies of the first edition. One to look through and one to "collect".

    It's a great book!

Collecting is fun and love ,plain simple for the thing that make you happy and brightens your day. Heck I just went in and had an ELP with my WDCC electrical parade series just in celebration of Bruce Gordons life ...it was fun , uplifting and made me feel good, and appreciate Walt... the nine old men.. David.. Bruce .. Bob ... Johb... thats what its all about. Have the book too and may reread soon.

I would hope that someone would continue with
further updates to the Nickle Tour, once every
5 years or so, just to add the new postcards and
    the changing landscape of DL.

I'm sure both Bruce and Dave had in mind that this
book would be updated for decades to come, as they
even designed a "Disneyland 100th Birthday Postcard",
that was given with the Hard Copy editions they signed
at the Disney Gallery in 1998.

Up until last week, you could buy The Nickel Tour on ebay for $110. Here are some links to completed auctions on ebay.

Some of these are auctions that closed without a sale. But, you should have no trouble getting your copy after some of the "collector panic" about Bruce Gordons death settles down.

The last time I looked on eBay they didn't have ANY copies for sale. The cheapest I saw online was almost $300, and went up from there. I'm still hoping for a re-release so I can get my own copy because I don't even want to pay $110 for one. (Yes, I'm cheap)

My daughter has one that I bought for her, I wish I'd got a few of them at the time.

And didn't I just comment on this book in another thread tonight already.

AddAll, a collective web sight for book sellers shows 16 copies for sale, the $250 seems like a fair price given whats available today. My advice is check ebay often, be patient and you might get a deal, but who knows.

If you're an ebay member, you can "save a search" which basically means that every 24 hours ebay will notify you via email that an item you have been looking for has been offered for auction (or sale) on ebay.
This is a great way to find what you want on ebay without having to look specifically for it every single day... ebay does that for you.

It's quite handy for collectors... heh-heh... like me.
