The more Midway Mania, the less Paradise Pier

I can't help but admire the new attention to detail in Midway Mania's facades. The more that emerges from behind those tarps, the more it helps bring out the drabness of Paradise Pier. I was looking at Darkbeer's new photos from the 14th and the fresh paint and detail on Midway Mania bring up all the problems that actually do exist in the Pier area. You notice just how dingy Screamin's track is, how clunky all those lighting poles are, and how faded everything is (those speakers mounted on the light poles and red panels on Screamin' are the worst!) The new Midway building has so many little intricate details that give the building dimension, it shows how 2D all those metal fixtures on everything really are.

I hope they do something to spruce up the surrounding area before the press event. The difference is really starting to show. I look forward to seeing this new addition to the park though. The building itself is beautiful.

I agree. Paradise pier needs something to make you want to make the long walk, it does look a bit worn. No Micechatters, the Cove bar doesn't count. LOL!

Oh, you mean like the speakers mounted on the light poles in New Orleans Square, or the ones in Small World Promenade, or the Main Street, U.S.A. hub light poles, or the ones along Route 66? But the ones in Paradise Pier are the worst...

^^No what I mean is that they could at least be painted. They look shabby. I don't mind the speakers so much, just how bad of shape they are in. Faded turquoise green is very noticeable.
