Re: Santa's Beach Blast at DCA

Yeah, it was cute the first year, and probably still if you have little kids, but I'd love to see something different.

On a side note, the Grand Cal has an amazing looking Santa Claus for photos and Christmas wishes. He's the real deal!

It wasn't a spectacle, but it was very classy and respectful of the season. Too bad that they decided to go edgy instead of sentimental with the beach blast thing.
Santa's Beach Blast is so incredibly tacky, it's disgusting. There's no reason for Santa to even be in DCA - heaven knows that most guests park hop, so the chance of a family seeing Santa twice in two different settings is pretty easy, and probably a bad idea.

If they want something "fun" - give us an elf workshop or something... Santa with surfboards isn't fun or clever. It's pathetic.

Ditto Dusty. Extremely tacky. I'm hoping Mr. Aaron doesn't care to see Santa there this year.

I agree, Dusty et al. Santa by the waterfall was pretty nice!

I admit to having a soft spot for it. I saw it for the first time last year and I met my current boyfriend while I was there. He was one of the guitar players for the band on the truck. I also just loved to watch Stitch dancing around. It was cute. But honestly, if I hadn't met my guy, I only would have done it once.

    Well, I love it!
A So Cal version of Christmas!
It cracks my east coast/midwest self up!
It's a great contrast to the traditional Chistmas they have in Disneyland.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

On a related note, when did Santa's Beach Blast, Candy Corn Acres, & Golden Screams first start showing/appearing?

The elves do all the work, and Santa doesn't want to hear 'em griping.

Santa is a concept guy, and like all great concept guys he insulates himself from the actual execution of any of the concepts, thus if things don't work out so well it is not his concept that was wrong, but the execution that was at fault. Its a little known fact that Santa gets most of his work done by April. After that he is available by blackberry until October, then he shuts off communication as he starts working on next years concept.

The sad thing is Santa is sloppy drunk by 3:00PM every day, he just can't keep his hands off the Mai Tais and mojitos.
