    Bah, Humbug!!!

" The Whos down in Who-ville are pathetic born losers
to gawk at the YuleCrumplers, fizznogs, and Plumtoozers!

Decorations and lights all winking and twinkling
are all WASTES of MONEY--they don't have an INKLING!!

Fake snow on the castle, fake snow in the air
To go through such hassle, do the Whos even care?

Everything's painted, or ribboned, or snowy, or holly-ed
    Candy cane-striped, plum-puddinged, or jollied!!

    ENOUGH with the refurbs!
    ENOUGH alteration!!
    No more peppermint curbs
    and candy cornification!!

The Whos are blissfully buried in Holiday Fodder
They shell out Who-dollars like lambs to the slaughter!

This year will be different when I unfold my plot
to make D-Land more 'grinchy' for the whole Who-ville Lot

Plastic snow will be gone and so will the lights
The HM will be OPEN, dispensing REGULAR frights!

Who needs giant wreaths and Christmas Who-candy?
Plain ol' D-Land to me, sounds just fine and dandy!

I'll make out a report to the Corporate Heads
that X-mas is failing! The spreadsheet's in RED!!

Say goodbye to your Christmas!! Halloweentime, too!!
Santa Grinch is bringin' the gift of consistency for you!!"

So do you side with the Grinch? I do, to a more moderate extent. The 'Holidaytime' promotions are far too long IMO, and cause far too much disruption to park operations and attractions. How do all you Whos feel about it? Is it 'worth' all the trouble? Keep in mind that not all Guests have the luxury of coming back in two weeks when an 'overlay' is complete. Should the 'hoopla' be scaled back? Should there be more decoration? Longer promotions?

Clever writing skill you have there.
And while I tend to agree about the over-hype of the holidays in the world outside DL, inside DL I wouldn't want it any other way. I love the decorations, the tree, the SNOW ON THE CASTLE!! I really feel the Christmas spirit at Disneyland over the holidays.

For the folks who go and are inconvenienced during the overlay process, is it really all that bad? I'd be more upset about going and there being several rides closed at the same time -- which has happened in the past on occasion as we all know.

No matter what, though, again, nice job on the poem!

The decorations are nice but the ride over lays that replace the original for months at a time arent as nice. If you can only go durring xmas, you never get to see the original mansion, and that annoys me

Would you feel better foc if i got you a christmas colored pirate hat?

HM (many guest's fave) IS closed for 5 weeks, however, to accomodate the Holiday overlay--a long time to HM hardcore fans. ALthough I personally can't believe it, IASW is also a perennial favorite, and suffers from a significant 'down time' while being tarted up. I appreciate the effort put into Holiday decorating; but we are starting to see a yearly escalation of the Halloweentime and Christmas additions and alterations. My question is: do you think we have reached saturation, or is the 'camel's back' still intact?
No matter what, though, again, nice job on the poem!
    ...and thank YOU!

But would the pirate hat have to be grinch green? Love the poem. I am one who likes the decorations and the "themed" rides. But I am a huge NBC fan, so it doesn't bother me at all! As for IASW...It keeps the kids happy! Again I love the poem!

I think the park is great with all the decorations. I think they've done it just about right. I love the new castle decorations.

Like MagicKingdomBoy said, you can really feel the Christmas spirit at Disneyland.

So then, any more would be 'too much'?

Feel it?! You can taste it a half hour after you left the Park! Overkill IMO, but I am not much of a Christmas 'fan'.

    Fantastic poem swabby!

Unfortunately, talented though it is I disagree with its subject. I like the holiday decorations and current ride overlays. Seeing as we go about 3-4 times a year and one of those trips always in the first week of December, it is a nice change for us.

To each their own of course...maybe a Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island "Narnia Holiday overlay" would make it all better? Ok, Ok, I'm kidding, hold off your broadside!

There should be more decorations along with a big giant "MERRY CHRISTMAS" sign at the main gates.

Make all those anti-Christmas people have a conniption fit.

I would not presume to demand a certain color for my 'gift' . So you dig the NBC overlay, I actually like it myself as well. Do you think that in the future other attractions will be 'on the block' for Holiday overlays if this popularity continues? I wouldn't care to see 'more'.

Yes, cause that makes great business sense, to get the people you are trying to attract to your resort to have a conniption.

Yes, this might actually give me a 'conniption' fit--and I'm not even Jewish, Buddhist, Athiest, Agnostic, Muslim or Hindu.

    Re: Bah, Humbug!!!

I am not a huge fan of the Christmas stuff, but my son adores it and always looks forward to it. I hate the way they close down HM and IASW for the refurbs, but it is a small price to pay and it's only for a month to two months anyway. In the grand sceme of things it doesn't really matter.

Besides what would you prefer Disney to do ignore Christmas? When you do a Christmast overlay you do it to the whole park not just one place, now that's stupid.

Fantastic poem by the by. Thumbs and churros way up!!! Spot on mate!
