Toys for Tots drive question
I searched the site and their FAQ could not provide an answer to this question. I thought I would ask all of you.
Do you think it appropriate to donate Video games to Toys for Tots (E rating)? I know maybe some of the kids might not have the most recent consoles but thought that some might have PS2s and GBAs and such. I work for a publisher and could probably get a few of our titles donated to the cause.
My thought was that it would be of greater monetary value to donate some video games, but that the foundation might not have as much use for them as if I picked up a different toy that did not require separate hardware.
What do you think?
Re: Toys for Tots drive question
I think that would be a great idea.
From reading the Toys for Tots website, they also work with local organizations such as church groups in distributing the toys. I am sure that there would be use for such a toy - and let's say there was not and not one child involved had a game console, I think it is safe to assume that the organization would not just let the games go to waste but would give them to a local children's hospital (most have gaming systems in the playrooms and sometimes in the rooms and are always looking for new games).
Re: Toys for Tots drive question
I don't see why not.
Plus, if they are given to charities or orphanages, etc, it's possible they have an older PS2 or GC.
