No but I will now!
That I have noticed! And I love it every single time it happens!Ever notice that once you step under the tracks the outside world nearly disappears?
Never noticed this, but again I will now!Walt is everywhere. His initials are in the railing of the balcony that used to be the Gallery. The big WD is carved into the "trees" backdrop of Toon Town.
Could not be put better...thank you!Walt is and always will be Disneyland.
This trip I want them to watch the flag ceremony. Last month we went to put flowers on my Mother's grave who we lost a year ago. Disneyland with her family was a place she loved because of the smiles and the happiness. When my granddaughter saw my sister saying a little prayer she asked if she could do something. We said of couse. Not knowing a prayer she went over, put her hand over her heart, and said the most important thing she knew...the Pledge of Allegaince. So this year she will be able to say it in front of Walt.
That is the reason I put this question out there. It is wonderful to see where everyone finds the dream. This thread proves that Disneyland is not a ride, or a meal, or a toy, it is a feeling. As one person said "the hair on the legs of the pirate on the bridge. Details" The feeling of appreciation for his love of details. Another said walk through the drawbridge... not take a picture, or stand in front, but walk through as he did so many times. This thread has turned into something wonderful. I am going to try and print it up so the kids can read it and see how people "feel" Walt at the park.
Thank You All for your thoughts!
For me, the most Walt place in the park is the park itself. The fact that it exists at all is the truest testament to the power of dreams and hard work. The fact that it isn't a strip mall shows just how one dream and the will to make it happen can change the world.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
Your grandchildren are very fortunate to be going to Disneyland with you. I wish I had been able to take my grandson sooner. Our first trips were to Disney World. Sean probably goes more for the rides. However, I feel that on our recent trips to Disneyland together he did get a feeling of where all this "Disney Magic" started.
When I posed this question to Sean, he remembered the many different photos that he saw of Walt Disney that are all over the park.
