    Pratt55 Nov 30 - Dec 3 Trip report

Last weekend the Zonies decided to invade the resort. We had not been to the park during the holidays for about 7 years and I knew I wanted my Christmas picture to be taken at the park so a trip was planned. The week before our trip some of us Zonies got together for Zoolights and since Earkid and family were already going, it was not hard to convince DLandFansAZ that his family needed to be present and accounted for. Unfortunately for DLFAz and our family we could not get out of town until Friday late afternoon due to children's schedule. It was pouring in Phoenix as we got ready to set off, and our oldest son Justin who is 'burnt out' on Disneyland was staying home to take care of the house and pets. As we turned around to say goodbye to him and get hugs, the power went out, so we left him in the dark . Little did he know that this was just the beginning of his making a 'bad decision' not to accompany us.

We called DLFAz and said we were setting off and he said that they had just set off but were taking a different route to the I-10 then us. A few hours later he called from the Love's gas station and asked where we were, we said we were just leaving the Love's. It turns out that there are two Love's within 10 miles of each other and we go to the one in Quartzsite while they go to the one at mile marker 1. At Coachella Valley we ran into extreme fog and so called to warn them, so far the trip was taking longer due to the extreme rain and now friggin fog. By the time we got to the hotel at 10:00 CA time, I knew I would never be on a scarier ride than the drive over it was truly 'the wildest ride in the wilderness'. Our son Pratt89 decided he wanted to sleep rather than go to the park so we left him to sleep while we went to have fun.

We had our own tram going into the park.

Finally we were at the park and decided to meet at City Hall. Now that I look back I am not really sure what we were all thinking selecting Finding Nemo to ride first considering that we had all just been in moving vehicles surrounded by water for the past 6 hours.

    DLFAz great kids

    DLFAz and family

    Hubby and moi

    Next ride IASW Holiday

We then did a lot of the Fantasyland Rides until the park closed. I looked for the lady who likes to ride Peter Pan last but I guess she was not there that night. We got on the tram at about 1:00 in the morning exhausted and then regained some energy thanks to the 'best tram ride ever'.

Saturday we had plans to go to Knotts where we had a blast and I hope to do a separate report on it tomorrow.

Sunday arrived bright and early, we like to be at the park for opening because we are ???

    Dumbo welcomed us

    Oh Christmas tree

My baby trying to wake up.

I want one of these for my house.

Hubby had to make a stop at City Hall so I took off for Space Mountain to collect FP's. I decided to ride the fire truck and was the designated 'bell ringer' little did I know later in the day I would be making even more noise at Disneyland. Meeting back up with my family.

    The castle in the daylight

More to come but I have to start getting ready to see Sweeney Todd

    Re: Pratt55 Nov 30 - Dec 3 Trip report

I am ready for the movie and have a little bit more time to spare so on with the report.

I love all the different wreaths.

    IASW during the daylight

    I love topiaries

    Backside of the Matterhorn

Off to Toon Town to take a Christmas picture with Mickey. We were walking through his house and around a corner he came walking.

While waiting in line we enjoyed the sound of silence from our son Justin.

    Look Justin has shrunk.

He keeps getting younger and younger

    Our family portrait

Mickey thought it was hysterical that we had brought a picture of our son and had other people stand in for him. The greeter with him said this was a first for her.

    My babies with Mickey.

The only bad thing about travelling to Anaheim is I always miss my dog so I decided to check out Pluto's space.

Minnie greeted us and really liked the strong silent Justin.

    Another wreath

These CM are about to be swallowed but still took the time to wave to us or were they trying to get help?

DLFAz called to say they were in the park so we planned to meet by the secret bathroom. The kids decided we were going on the Mark Twain so off we headed.

DLFAz knew I had never been in the driver's area and so while the rest of us chatted away he snuck off and made arrangements for his daughters, my son and I to get to ride up there. YES, another first for me.

Yes I was having a blast up there driving. I had tooted the horn and rang the bell, thanks to DLFAz.

    Time for another family photo

Justin just kept changing before our eyes.

I had no clue I had twins.

Sometimes the poor kid does not know which way to go.

Marc and the girl's had become fast friends so they took off for the island.

It was time for me to take off for the Toys for Tot's meet while the rest stayed in the park and had fun.

Coming up the meet, parade and the Processional.

Wow! So that's what Disneyland looks like that early in the morning . I just love the pictures of your son Justin, he's quite a ham for pictures, isn't he . And, congratulations on getting to ride in the driver's area on the Mark Twain, I'm so jealous! Fun trip report, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it!

Was great to see (actually meet?) you and taste your delicious toffee!!
LOVE the idea about a pic of your son!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

The view was amazing. I was acting sillier than either of the girls.

We do not have a trunk but all you have to do is ask and this time I would have made you sit in the front seat so I could quietly panic in the back of the van. Next trip Dec 30 - Jan 1.

Yes, dear, Disneyland looks a little different in the morning. So when are we opening up our shipping office to use up our boxes?
