I've used tickets for a few of the ceremonies, but I think the best one, in terms of the narration, specifically, was that of Howard Keel. I was only able to see a recording of that event on television, but the timbre of his voice and the inflection in his reading were quite special.

Among those ceremonies I've seen in person, Dick Van Dyke's reading was really nice, too, particularly because of the warmth he exudes. That year's event felt more like an intimate gathering of friends.

I was in the Candlelight Procession back in 1984 and I could have sworn Charlton Heston did the reading when I was there. I could be wrong and he did the reading for the big Patriotic Thing they had going on for the 84' Olympics but I do know he was Narrator for one of those events.

I'm almost positive you are right about that. I questioned what seemed like too many Joseph Campanellas in that official Disney list myself...and 1984 is indeed a Joseph.
