    Monsters Inc Refurb, why???

Title says it all... I haven't seen any info on why the Monsters Inc. dark ride is going to be down for what seems to be at least three months. The ride is practically new and nothing seems to be wrong with it from any reports. Anyone in the know know? It's a shame for the only really good kid's ride in DCA to go down for so long.

I don't know about the three months portion, but think of it as preventative maintenance. It's better to keep something fom breaking while it still works, rather than waiting until it's in shambles and THEN doing something about it.

Freakin' monsters never pick up after themselves and leave slime everywhere. It's disgusting.

Beside basic yearly fixing things up they are also going to put in gates at the loading area.

I think it's sad that we even need those gates... people should be smart enough to know not to walk into the track and keep their kids under control...

Just another way we're nullifying the evolutionary process little by little...

I totally agree. It's almost as insulting as the "hand washing tips" in the bathrooms.

I just hope they're plussing it in some significant way because it almost ranks with Pooh in terms of disappointing dark rides.
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

I think little kids were bolting out to get on the vehicles, so gates are a necessity.

Geez, now I have to throw kids over a gate instead of just pushing them infront of the Taxi's? What a cruel world...

Welcome to America and where we don't take responsibility in anything, let alone child raising.

Plenty of parents take responsibility. We just live in the "cover your butt or get sued" era.

Maybe they are going to hack away much of the cue area that isn't needed.

I mean I like Monsters Inc and all, but could you ever imagine waiting in a line that filled that entire area up having already been on it before??

If I can't at least get to the point where I'm about to enter the building before seeing the end of the line, then the line is too long for me. But, in my experience, it doesn't often exceed that point for the most part.

Anyhow, If that area of the park is going to be the new temporary entrance, then maybe they will consider getting rid of some of the never-used cue.

    Kissman,

You'll be pleased to know the line is rarely over 15 minutes now.
