Re: What You love About Disneyland

Great idea Big Thunder! I take it this was inspired by the nitpicking thread?
Its great to see some positive posts! I wish some of the others who took offense to the nitpicking thread would post here and tell us what they do like about the parks. Hopefully they will.

Talking Re: What You love About Disneyland

Alright are we being serious or silly....

Look at my headline....it says that Disneyland is an escape....a place where anyone can go to be nothing but themselves with no worry of bad reprocussions

Also....churros.....they pretty much suck anywhere else haha.....and there also you know alll the awesomeness of everything....you can go to disneyland without being happy....how many people would say that they didnt get even the slightest smile by simply walking through the gates into disneyland....the place just makes you happy....which i think is the greatest thing any place could hope to accomplish

    soooo YAY DISNEYLAND....

Re: What You love About Disneyland

I love the fact that while I am there, I can get away from all the worries that I have and really enjoy myself and my family. I love seeing the park through the eyes of my grandchildren. I love the colors and landscape, especially this time of the year. I love the fact that the attractions entertain me instead of turning me upside down and around. I love the POPCORN! I don't know what it is that makes the popcorn at DLR taste so much better than at home. But what I love the most is MICKEY and MINNIE! Even though I am older, everytime I see them I feel like a litte girl again.

I love the look in a toddler's eyes upon meeting his/her favorite character in person for the first time. It's amazing.

My Mom told me this weekend that the first time I met Snow White, I apparently was willing to stay with her and not go home with my Parents... I was 4.

Love to sit and stare at the details from a design standpoint. Love Pirates of the Caribbean. And I love watching the Columbia float by.

Re: What You love About Disneyland

I cherish the memories I have of being there so many times with my family growing up, and the memories I'm making now with my own family.

The traditions we have (i.e. Mickey Mouse Pancakes at Riverbelle Terrace at least once per trip)...

Not being afraid to be a KID again. (Note: I was the only adult racing around TSI (Sorry.......it's still TSI to me), climbing and crawling through caves. The boys (ages 6-11) told me I'm the coolest parent. Ha!) Whether it's seeing the characters, or the attention to detail, or being too excited to sleep the night before.

Great America and Sixx Flags just can't hold a candle to DL.
Counting the minutes......next trip ??????!!!! (to far away!!!)

    LITTLE DATA: Is Santa real?
DATAMAMMA: Well...no. Not really. But it's fun to pretend.
LITTLE DATA: Mmmm. [ponders for a while]
    LITTLE DATA: Mommy?
    DATAMAMMA: Yes?
LITTLE DATA: How does Santa get down the chimney then?

    Sorry, that just reminded me.

Great posts so far, let's keep it going.

I love the smells of Disneyland too. The popcorn, the diesel, the water of RoA and Jungle. Amazing how smells can 'take you back' more than just about anything else.

Indeed! I went to a Christmas concert the other evening, and I was amazed by how lovely, warm, and nostalgic the POTC-like smell of the concert hall made me feel. Similarly, a recent unexpected encounter with a basket of churros made me lose myself in a cloud of memories. And one of the main reasons I enjoy log flume rides in other parks is because they tend to smell the same way Splash Mountain does.

IJA, definitely. But what's WFJC? All this time I thought I was so savvy on DLR acronyms...
