Thank you so much for all the kind words, guys! Glad my different take on Disneyland is accepted a little better here than in the real world.

I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to post all of my pertinent photos from the trip on Flickr yet; there are some that I'm sure would be interesting to at least one or two people out there. I don't have access to them for the time being, but I'm hoping to get them up soon. I'll let y'all know, just in case you're interested.

In HMH, there is a small gorilla with a glowing red heart and bridal gown (sound familiar?) hiding in the attic. You have to look to your left just before exiting the attic--literally the last second or two before you're "outside." He (or she, I should say) is back behind some packages, perhaps six inches to a foot tall.

How were you able to determine the location of the first drop?

Just using the same plans you have and the aerial photos from local.live.com. I used Photoshop to line them up properly, and the stretch of track just after the first drop (which is visible in one of the prints) goes below just that one outside area. The entire rest of the time it's below the visible outdoor buildings.

On the Haunted Mansion Holiday (HMH) ride, the "miniature gorilla bride" can be seen to the LEFT (in back behind some christmas packages) just BEFORE your Doombuggy exits the ATTIC scene "window" (before you begin the descent backwards into the graveyard scene). The gorilla bride has on a white dress and has a glowing, beating red heart (spooky!). Due to technical difficulties beyond my control, it took me until my third time through the ride to finally see it. I thought friends were pulling my leg when they told me to look for it, but it is actually there!

Maybe someone will catch the beast on film and "bring'em back alive (sort of ...)" for us-all to see.
