Re: Disneyland/WDW Christmas Day Parade Special

I believe (could be wrong) that the title of Snow Queen came from Disney costuming. Just like the The Prince from Snow White is referred to as Snow Prince. They put the 'Snow' there to denote that the character is from Snow White. Now, I think it would have been better for Regis to have said "That's the Evil Queen from Snow White" but since I've heard the title of Snow Queen I didn't think anything of it. Disney doesn't market her as Snow Queen, but I heard about the Snow Queen name for her from a Disney employee, so I guess maybe it's just a thing used inside Disney.

Well that does make sense then. In order to keep costumes correctly laid out they would need to let the people working there know what costumes goes to whom. I guess they hire people in costuming who don't know Wicked Queen from Maleficent, but they only need to know how to sew, right? Just being sarcastic, but it does sound like it is an internal thing at the Theme Parks.

I was at church during the majority of the parade but I did see this as well, and IMO, they can stay at WDW. I'm sorry but to me this looks a little creepy...

    Now this makes more sense.

even with "costuming reasons", that still doesn't name that character.
If anyone character at Disney is the Snow Queen, it would be the
    White witch from Narnia.

This year's parade really seemed to be missing something, just wasn't
nearly as good as some of their previous Christmas Day shows.

One interesting character that made an appearance was Captain Barbossa!
DL should have him as a character too.

I did like the graphics on the panels behind Miley, during her song.

Oh, late on Christmas eve, I noticed the Travel Channel had a new
special on about the Christmas holiday at DL and WDW. Could tell
it was new, because they showed and talked about the new lighting
    on both castles this year.

They ruined Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" song by having Hannah Montana perform it. They should have just gotten Mariah Carey in the first place. The Disney Channel stars get on my nerves. The Mariah Carey WDW parade special was the best though.

Did anyone else notice that Disney made the sky blue during Mylie Cyrus' performance, the day she taped the performance the sky was gray as in this picture from wolfy999.

Here is a video with the blue sky

Are you joking? Mariah Carey completely ruined that song. Her new version is way too over the top. And I hate that it's playing in every store this year! I'm not saying I loved Miley's version of it, but I think she's a much better role model for the kids that are going to want to watch the Christmas Special than Carey.

As far as recordings of All I Want For Christmas, I'd say the best-done and least-obnoxious is the one sung by the little girl in Love Actually.

I noticed this! They desperately tried to CGI the sky bluer to match the footage that was filmed the week before. Miley was out of town (In Texas, I heard) on her tour the day of filming in DLR, so she came back a week later. I got sunburned one weekend, and it was grey and rainy the next. It totally didn't match! There's a bit of haze in the air from the rain and clouds... The castle looked all misty during the footage of Miley's performance.
