I got evacuated from Indiana Jones

Last night I was in Indy around 8:55 PM. I went through the ride like normal until it broke down. My jeep happened to be in front of the boulder so I'm staring at it rolling in place. Thirty min later, they evacuated the ride. My friend who was getting people out asked if it happened to me before, I said I got stuck on Indy twice but never evacuated so this was my first time. Going down that steep drop for the jeep, I just realized how steep it was . Got a re ad pass for later but didn't use it.

I want to do that again.

That is the best ride to get evac'd from, if your jeep is in one of the really cool areas. You can see just how much ISN'T there that your mind fills in for you when the work lights are off. It's a lot more interesting than most.

I'm sure with the many times you get on Indy you'll get to do that again!

I got evaced once where he's holding the doors back.
That is really odd, to see him jerk around like that over. and over. and over.

That is cool! We once were evacuated from the WDW Tower of Terror, that was pretty neat as well.

I wouldn't want to be evac'd from a roller coaster, like at the top. Too scared of heights!

There's so much detail that the Imagineers put in throughout the Temple that you really can't notice because you pass by it so fast. But when you get to walk the track, you get wow'd even more so than riding the attraction. It's all in the details.

The pseudo-good thing about that is it's the attraction you're most likely to get Evac'd from considering it breaks down more than any other in DL...

I believe your Evac was at least breakdown number 3 for yesterday.

Congratulations! I envy you muchly. That would have made a great Christmas present. That drop sure seems steep, doesn't it? I think it's only about a 15-degree angle, but it somehow manages to seem pretty dramatic.

There's a reason there's anti-slip tape all the way down the incline on the sides.

You can even see it clearly when riding the attraction. It almost looks like a conveyor belt when you're moving.

It doesn't stop me either. But once I'm up 3 steps or so on a ladder, I get nervous - so imagine on a coaster, even just partway up. I'm not sure I'd ever get out!

This actually happened to us on CA Screamin' the first time I rode it on the passholder preview day before DCA opened to the public. And wouldn't you know it was almost to the top of the biggest hill.

We sat there for about 20 minutes while they tried to restart it but no go. Two guys walked up all those stairs with seat belt type straps with hooks, almost like rock climbing equipment. They started at the front, 2 at a time, and wrapped the belt around you and secured the other end to a rail. While the car is leaning downhill, you had to stand up and carefully step over the edge of the car without losing your balance and walk down the stairs.

I was absolutely terrified, and so happy to be on solid ground again.
I never want to do that again!

No, I don't think so. They can just gently glide the car back down, with me in it.

I can't even imagine! Did they give you anything - fastpasses, etc., for your experience?
