It was really interesting. It definetley has room to and needs to improve which is what I hope to see in the future. But if they plan on bringing the same thing back next year, I say keep the snow in burbank.

I wasn't that fond of the icicles. The lights and the snow were fine. They need to put the lights all the way around the castle. Other than that, it was pretty! Overall, if they kept it the same next year, I wouldn't complain....except for the Fantasyland part. It made Fantasyland look like the backside of a Hollywood set. That is SO wrong!!
Well, I was only able to appreciate the castle this year via this website, but I did think for their first attempt, the castle looked very beautiful at night. I definitely believe Disney should make the icicles more realistic next time AND decorate the whole castle. This would help with the daytime view of the castle.
true the daytime view was very discouraging

Just to add into the conversation, did anybody feel like the snow came off as too "fake."
I tried to liked it, but the snow didn't really win me over.
It would be awesome, in my mind, if the Castle could look regular during the daytime but then sparkle to life at night like it does now. Then, the show Disney is currently doing would make more sense...

I watched the addition of the snow via photos online, not expecting to get a chance to see it in person this year, but I was then happily surprised when I got a chance to visit the park while the display was up. Then I was happily surprised again when I found that the snow display didn't bother me as much in person as it did in photos. In fact, I found it rather nice, as long as I didn't get too close. Now, I did peek at all the "incomplete" areas, and they annoyed me greatly, as did the daytime appearance of the icicles. The entire display was certainly much more impressive at night, though I thought the nighttime lighting the castle had already been quite good.
Anyway, the new look surprised me by being more appealing in person than I expected, but it absolutely needs improvements if it's to return next year. I'm sure Disney's aware of this already, but those missing areas need to receive the snow treatment and the icicles need to look like icicles in the daytime. R&D needs to invest a little time in developing whitish, clear, hollow plastic icicles that surround the lights, rather than these cheap spirals of opaque material.
Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle, for me, was a disappointment.
During the day, the snow itself looks nice, but the icicles look atrocious and the exposed cables and missing snow is bad show. At night, the unlit backside of the Castle is also bad show. It looks unfinished, undercooked, and poorly executed.
At night the LED lights looks strange to me after being used to all of the traditional Christmas lights throughout the park (especially Main Street USA).
I don't know... I think Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle is a fantastic idea, the execution is just less than I had expected.
i personally thought it was great. It was beautiful in the daytime and magnificant at night however on the backside of the castle, it was compeltley bare. there was nothing there and i think that was bad show. I mean there was snow and magic on the front but nothing on the back! next time i hope the back isn't forgotten
I know exactly what you mean...but it didn't bother me. I'm not always the biggest fan of LED technology, but in this case, it works for me.At night the LED lights looks strange to me after being used to all of the traditional Christmas lights throughout the park (especially Main Street USA).
I think that the lighted version of the castle is great, but I want the complete castle, the back as well as the front, decorated and cohesively themed. I would love to also see Christmas trees in the water below the castle. That was an old decoration style that always looked magical.

Love Disneyland and Walt Disney World!
a big win deffinitely but also the backside of the castle where fantasyland needs some loving too you know. Other than that, it looks so beautiful. I simply bow down to the castle and to auroa.
